YOU ARE NEVER ALONESpeaker: Dr. Paul Dhinakaran Gist: God says, “I will not leave you nor forsake you.” God sets the solitary in families and releases those who are bound into prosperity according to Psalm 68:6.
Several years back, there was an old lady, who died in an old age home. In her diary, she had written a phrase on every page saying, “Nobody came to see me.” Her diary contained the same phrase in all the pages.
Loneliness brings bitterness into one’s life. The Psalmist says, "Turn Yourself to me, and have mercy on me, For I am desolate and afflicted" (Psalm 25:16). He further says, “I lie awake, And am like a sparrow alone on the housetop” (Psalm 102:7).
God created Adam beautifully in His own image (Genesis 1:27). He gave him authority over all the world and He Himself took pleasure to walk with him. But, when He looked into the heart of Adam, He saw that Adam was all alone. So, He said, “It is not good that man should be alone” (Genesis 2:18). He declared that Adam needs a helper. So, He created Eve with all His love and compassion to be with him.
This is how God understands and reacts to your needs. He does not want you to be a solitary person; He does not want you to linger with your broken family. He is a God, who sets the solitary into families.
In the Bible, we read about a woman called Naomi. She lost her dear husband and two sons (Ruth 1:5). Her heart was broken and she said, "Do not call me Naomi; call me Mara, for the Almighty has dealt very bitterly with me." Mara means bitterness. Her soul was so bitter that nobody could console her. The grief of Naomi would have been even greater for she had lost two sons at a very prime age. At that moment God came in search of her to turn her sorrow into joy. He had mercy on her and built up her daughter-in-law’s life (Ruth) once again and blessed her with a family.
In the same way, when you cling unto the Lord firmly, He will bless you with a family. You will not be left alone anymore.
When our Lord Jesus Christ was held at the Garden of Gethsemane, all His disciples left Him alone and fled away (Matthew 26:56). He went through the bitterness of death all alone, and finally, the darkness of death came upon Him. He cried out, “My God, My God why have you forsaken Me?” (Matthew 27:46). But, the Heavenly Father did not leave Jesus alone, He was resurrected.
Are you separated from your loved one? Is there nobody to care for you? Let not your heart be troubled? You have a God, who comes in search of you to build up your life once again and to bring you out of the valley of bitterness. He says, “I will not leave you nor forsake you” (Joshua 1:5) and He says, "I will be a Father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters" (2 Corinthians 6:18).
Dear friend, cling unto the Lord and He will bless you with a family. You will not be left alone thereafter. So, be of good cheer!
Prayer:
Almighty God,
I thank You for Your love and compassion shown towards me. Help me to remember always that I am a member of Your family and that You always care for me. You will not leave me nor forsake me. I am never alone in any situation. I praise and thank You for this wonderful privilege. Give me Your grace to cling on to you always. Lead me throughout this day.
In Jesus' matchless name, I pray.
Amen.
