YOU WILL SHINE!Speaker: Dr. Paul Dhinakaran Gist: Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. Dear friend, are you browsing this website with great sorrow? Do not be disheartened. The Lord will make you shine before men and they will see your good works and glorify His name. The Bible says, "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:16).
In the Bible, we read about Job, who was righteous, upright, feared God and kept himself away from evil. The satan observed that the Lord had set a fence around him and protected him. The evil one rose against him and destroyed all his ten children. The enemies came and drove away all his oxen, donkeys and all his cattle. Fire came down from heaven and burned down his sheep and servants. Job, who lived with all splendour and wealth, lost all he had and became a poor man in a single day. He said, “But when I looked for good, evil came to me; And when I waited for light, then came darkness” (Job 30:26).
Not only that, he was afflicted with painful boils from the sole of his feet to the crown of his head. His wife looked at him and said to him, “Do you still hold to your integrity? Curse God and die” (Job 2:9). Even at that desperate stage, Job stood firm for God. In the end, he triumphed over the evil one and was rewarded with two-fold blessings.
When you stand firm for the Lord, you will overcome all the sufferings in your life by His power and you will be rewarded with two-fold blessings.
Our Lord Jesus Christ had triumphed over all the sufferings on the cross. He will give the relief and liberation to everyone, who cries out to Him. His love will offer this freedom through His divine love. He is alive today to relieve you from all the sufferings in your life and make you shine.
There was a missionary, who served the Lord on Hawaii islands along with his family. Suddenly his wife became ill and she died. Sorrow engulfed him. He decided to send his children to England so that they could continue their studies staying in hostels. The day for the children’s departure dawned. He bid them good-bye.
The children looked at their father and said, “Dad, we do not have our mother. You are also sending us away as orphans.” They began to cry bitterly. The missionary also wept and waved his hands to them. The ship disappeared from his sight.
All of a sudden, he heard a voice calling him, ‘Daddy’. He turned back and saw a young man with a tumour on his forehead. The young man asked, “Sir, do you recognize me? Twenty years back, when I was born with this outgrowth, my mother abandoned me and brought me to this seashore. You came running towards her and saved my life. That is why I am alive today. Your wife has died and your children have left for England. Hereafter, I will be your son and serve you faithfully.” The missionary embraced him with tears and was consoled. In his life of darkness, there arose the light which made him shine.
The Lord will make His light shine upon you also, when you stand firm for the Lord.
“Unto the upright there arises light in the darkness; He is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous” (Psalm 112:4).
Are you saying that there is no one to love you? Are you facing curses and failures in your life? Do not be disheartened. You are never alone. The Lord will send His people to love you and to give you His blessings, peace and consolation. Stand firm for the Lord and He will make you shine.
Prayer:
Loving Lord,
I praise You for Your everlasting grace and compassion. May Your light shine upon me so that Your power will make me firm to stand for You. I confess that without You I cannot face my life on this earth. I thank You for having assured me that You overcame the darkness and therefore You want me to be of good cheer always and face each day with Your power. I offer myself into Thy loving hands.
In Jesus' mighty name, I pray.
Amen.
