GREAT LOVE Speaker: Dr. D.G.S. Dhinakaran Gist: God took the form of a man to express His great love for you. God came down to this world in the form of a man to express His love towards us.
The Bible says, "Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage." (Hebrews 2:14,15)
This is the indescribable mystery. The Bible says, "And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifested in the flesh,..." (1 Timothy 3:16). He was manifested in the flesh and He died on the cross to show us His love for us. He was resurrected, reminding us that He shed His blood for us.
Several years back, I read a very interesting episode in a magazine. There was a very talented football player in a school. He had a little brother who was just 2 ˝ years old. He loved his little brother more than himself. All of a sudden, one day, the little boy could not stand due to some ailment and he fell down. He was immediately rushed to the hospital. The doctors who examined him said, “Both his kidneys are not functioning. If you give your consent, we can transplant one of his brother’s kidneys to this little boy.”
The skillful football player immediately consented for kidney transplantation. He cried to the doctors, “Sir, I want my little brother alive by any means.” But, his coach and his teammates objected. They said, “Are you mad? Your football career is very bright. Are you going to lose your physical fitness and stamina by donating your kidney?” But he stood firm and replied, “It doesn’t matter. The life of my brother is precious to me than my own future.” Then the doctors went ahead with the surgery. One of his kidneys was transplanted to his little brother and he was healed.
With great joy he held the hand of his brother and went back home gladly. When the little brother grew up, he would definitely have declared, “Today I am alive, only because of my elder brother. His great sacrifice alone has kept me alive now.”
Dear friend, just like the elder brother unmindful of his bright football career sacrificed his kidney for his little brother, the Lord God, the Creator of heaven and the earth, sacrificed His life on the cross for us, so that we could understand His great love.

Almighty God,
I thank You for taking the form of a man to express Your love for me. The indescribable mystery of Your wonderful love urges me to praise You always. Help me to reflect Your love in my life. Keep me as a sign and wonder to all those whom I meet today. Bless me and make me glad.
