STRENGTHENING GRACE Speaker: Sis. Stella Dhinakaran Gist: God says, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” The Lord will send His grace to strengthen you. When His strength comes into you, you will do all things through Him. “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13).
When Apostle Paul made supplications to the Lord regarding his physical infirmities, the Lord replied to him, "My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness" (2 Corinthians 12:9).
In 1 Chronicles 29:12 king David declares that both riches and honour come from the Lord, and He reign over all. In His hand is power and might; In His hand it is to make great, and to give strength to all.
“The Lord will give strength to His people; The Lord will bless His people with peace.” (Psalm 29:11)
Once, when Jesus went to a synagogue on the Sabbath day, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity for eighteen years and was bent over and could in no way raise herself up. When Jesus saw her, He called her to Him and said to her “Woman, you are loosed from your infirmity.” And He laid His hands on her and immediately she was made straight and glorified God (Luke 13:11-13). The strength of the Lord enabled her to rise up by herself. He will do the same for you also.
Several years back, I had a severe pain on both my arms. I could not even lift them up. In the midst of my pain, I had to do all the household chores on my own. I did not know what to do. At that moment, my husband, Bro.D.G.S.Dhinakaran prayed for me and took me to the hospital. The doctors treated me and said nothing. But, when I came home, all of a sudden, the strength of the Lord empowered me. And I arose and went about to do my routine chores. I did not pay any heed to the pain in my arms. By praising the Lord, I finished all household chores. I found that the pain had disappeared and never came again. I can strongly say that the Lord had sent His grace to strengthen me to do all my work at that moment.
Similarly, the Lord will also send His grace to strengthen you to do all things through Him. When you cling on to the Lord and live a life pleasing to Him, He will send His grace to strengthen you continually. “Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” (Hebrews 4:16)
Dear friend, are you passing through physical infirmities? Do not be disheartened, Jesus was crucified on the cross to change all our physical agony. Matthew 8:17 says, “He Himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses.” When you cling on to Him, He will send His grace to strengthen you in your weakness.
Prayer:
Loving Lord Jesus,
I praise You for all the blessings that You have showered on me. Send me Your grace to strengthen me in my weakness and physical infirmities. Enable me to realize that You have taken up my infirmities and bore all my sicknesses. I thank You from the bottom of my heart for this inexpressible sacrifice. Help me to cling on to You and to live a life pleasing to You.
All honour, praises and glory belong to You alone.
