MY MIGHT Speaker: Dr. Paul Dhinakaran Gist: God, who is in you, is greater than he who is in the world. God is greater than all our afflictions. He will strengthen us to be glad in times of our trouble.
The Bible says, “He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.” (1 John 4:4)
Many times, we become weak, because of our afflictions. When we hear others’ problems, we are eager to help them. But, we don’t have the strength to do so. In this situation, the Holy Spirit immediately helps us in our weakness (Romans 8:26).
God, who raised Jesus Christ from the dead will give us the life to our mortal body and the Holy Spirit will strengthen us in our weakness. Romans 8:11 says, “But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.”
He wants to keep our body as the temple of the Holy Spirit, Who is in us, will help us in our weakness. “Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?” (1 Corinthians 6:19).
He will surely strengthen us in all our weaknesses, when we ask Him to fill us with the Holy Spirit.
When my sister Angel died, my father, Bro.D.G.S.Dhinakaran was in anguish. In this situation, one day, he went to minister the word of God to the Institute of Evangelism. Before entering the auditorium, when he was seated at the entrance, he felt very desperate and his heart was filled with grief. He spoke to himself, “What am I going to speak? I am terribly grieved. How am I going to make the people to be filled with the power of the Lord?”
At that moment, two sisters from Andhra Pradesh came to meet him. They were not well versed in English and they knew only Telugu. They looked at my father and said, “Pray for us.” But, he asked them to pray for him. Immediately one of the sisters started to speak in tongues. She spoke God’s word clearly in English language though she did not know the language. The Holy Spirit spoke directly to my father through her. The power of the Holy Spirit filled her and she prophesied about his ministry. He was strengthened by the Holy Spirit.
In the same way, the Lord will also give you His strength by filling you with the Holy Spirit.
Dear friend, when you ask God to fill you with the Holy Spirit, He will fill you and strengthen you in your weakness and will answer all your prayers.
Prayer:
Loving Lord,
Fill me with Your Holy Spirit so that I will be strengthened in all my weaknesses. Give me Your grace to stand firm in times of trouble. Help me to derive all the blessings that You have in store for me. I would like to be a source of delight to You always. Keep me under Your mighty wings and protect me from all dangers.
