“But made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men.” (Philippians 2:7)
Our Lord Jesus Christ emptied Himself and took the form of a bondservant. When He descended to this earth, he said, “Behold, I have come to do your will, O God” (Hebrews 10:9). At the moment of His death, He cried aloud, “Father, into your hands, I command my spirit,” and He gave up His spirit” (Luke 23:46).
Once, I read in the newspaper about the atrocities let loose by a foreign army on the people of Philippines, during the Second World War. When they could not get sufficient food, they brought the prisoners of war, whom they had captured. They hung the slaves by binding their hands together. Then they brought a sharp knife and cut off flesh from the part, which was very healthy. The tortured person used to cry in pain, “Sir, please leave me, I am not able to bear this severe pain.” But they never showed any mercy. Blood flowed out from their body and they died an agonizing death.
But, our Lord Jesus experienced unbearable agony in His flesh and tasted death for everyone is not inside the tomb, He is alive. He has risen. Therefore cheer up!
Are you not able to bear your affliction, infirmity, poverty, curse or debt? Let not your heart be troubled, God wants to comfort you. The Bible says in Isaiah 25:8 "...the Lord God will wipe away tears from all faces." Truly He will wipe away the tears from your face.
“Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.” (John 16:24)
Dear friend, when you ask in the name of Jesus Christ, He will answer all your petitions and will meet all your needs. He will wipe away every tear from your face. He allowed His body to be crushed on the Cross and bore all your sorrows. Stop mourning and look unto the Lord who has carried all your sorrows.
Prayer:
Loving Lord Jesus,
I praise and thank You because You gave Yourself to be wounded and crushed on the Cross of Calvary to give me a new life. Wipe away all my tears and answer all my petitions. I ask in Your name to grant me the grace to call upon You when I am in trouble and experience the manifestation of Your glory in my life.
All glory, honour and praises belong to You alone.
