PEACE AND JOY Speaker: Sis. Stella Dhinakaran Gist: The Prince of Peace will transform you and fill you with His peace and joy. The Prince of Peace wants to fill you with His peace and joy in your life. John 14:27 says, “My peace I give you.” He is ready to give you His peace. When you claim it, you will receive His divine peace.
“And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.” (Colossians 3:15)
When you seek the Lord and hold on to Him, He will come into your life and will transform your sinful nature. He can only redeem you from your sins and offer you His divine peace.
“The Lord will give strength to His people; The Lord will bless His people with peace.” (Psalm 29:11)
There was a man, who indulged himself in murder and robbery. He was also a drunkard and practiced many more evil habits. Everyday he used to go home in his drunken state and beat his wife and children. So, the children hid themselves from him. But, his wife was a pious woman. She joined hands with her mother-in-law and both of them prayed for this man.
Once, he planned to kill a person. He set out with a long knife hiding in his clothes. On the way, a gospel meeting was in progress. He was amazed by the large crowd. Out of curiosity, he positioned himself at the far end of the ground and was listening to the message. At that time, a man of God was preaching about the great sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. The man was fully captivated by the message. He could not move away from that place. Hosea 11:4 says, “I drew them with gentle cords, with bands of love….”
Lord Jesus touched the heart of this man and filled him with the love of God. Suddenly he began to cry, “Oh God, I am a sinner, what could I do Lord?”. During that time, the man of God, who was praying for the people gave an altar call.
Immediately this man rushed to the stage and committed himself to God. Instantaneously, a great peace and joy that the world cannot offer filled his heart. He threw away his knife and ran back home. He called his wife and said, “I have tormented you all these years. From today onwards, I am a child of God. Hereafter I will not afflict you. Be bold! Let’s live peacefully and joyfully.” The children, who hid themselves, came running towards him. He embraced them and kissed them. He asked forgiveness from his mother. God filled that family with peace and joy.
Dear friend, the Lord will also fill you and your family with His divine peace and joy. Do not worry, commit yourself completely in His hands and receive the God given peace in full measure.Just tell Him, “Lord, I will seek you and I will hold on to you. Lord, please fill me with your peace.” Then the divine peace will fill you.
Prayer:
Loving Lord,
Enable me to seek You all the time and hold on to Your promises. Help me to come out of my sinful nature and transform me. I commit my life unto You. Lead me in the right way in which I should proceed further in every part of my life. Fill me and my family with Your divine peace and joy.
