MY ROCK Speaker: Sis. Stella Dhinakaran Gist: Build your house on the Lord and He will bless you and your family. The Lord is our rock and when we build our houses upon this rock, we will receive His blessings.
Psalm 18:2 says, “The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.”
We take much care to lay the foundations of our houses so that it will not be shaken. Similarly when our family is founded on the rock (God), we will stand forever and will receive His blessings.
God created Adam and Eve and united them as a family in a very pleasant state to reside in a beautiful Garden of Eden. But, Eve was cheated by the deceitful satan, the serpent. She rejected the counsel of God and trusted the words of the evil one and lost the presence of the Lord. Thus the devil trapped and deprived them of the privileges they enjoyed with God.
The Bible says, “…God made man upright, but they have sought out many schemes” (Ecclesiastes 7:29). Even today in our lives similar things happen.
In Ecclesiastes 4:12 we read, “a threefold cord is not quickly broken”. What do we comprehend by ‘a threefold cord’? It is the cord made of three persons –the Heavenly God, the husband and the wife. It is that family which is founded on the rock (God)stands forever.
On the 17th of August 1959, Bro.D.G.S.Dhinakaran and I got married. On the very first day, we dedicated our lives to the Lord. When I was 16 years old, I accepted the Lord as my Saviour and I began to enjoy the great love of God. Even my husband Bro.D.G.S.Dhinakaran dedicated his life to Jesus, when he was just 20 years old. God’s love and compassion filled our hearts and kept our family united always. Ecclesiastes 12:1 advises us, “Remember now your Creator in the days of your youth".
The Lord took the responsibility of our lives. Since then He has been leading our life in an amazing manner. Even though we faced many trials and tribulations, the grace of the Lord has been upholding us for all these years.
Dear friend, when you build your house on the Lord, He will take care of you and your family and will receive His blessings.
Prayer:
Almighty God,
You are my rock and my salvation. You are the strong foundation of my life. Help me to build my family upon You so that we will not be shaken. Take care of us and lead us in the righteous way. Bless us and meet all our needs this day according to the riches of Your glory.
