WAIT WEARY SOUL

Speaker: Dr. Paul Dhinakaran

Gist: Weary soul wait on the Lord.

God strengthens those who are weary. Everyone who faint, be assured that the Lord is going to strengthen and answer all your prayers today. The Lord is moved with compassion on seeing you wait for a long time and as a result of which your heart is beginning to faint.

“He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall, but those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint (Isaiah 40:29-31).

"Therefore wait for Me," says the Lord (Zephaniah 3:8). Many a times, people are prone to ‘waiting also on the Lord’ instead of ‘waiting only on the Lord.” On the one hand, such people depend on God while on the other they also wait and trust on their knowledge, understanding, education, name, fame, ability, worries, anxieties and other people.

Why should you wait on the Lord?

God has planned everything even before eternity as to what should happen in this world. "Known to God from eternity are all His works” (Acts 15:18). “although the works were finished from the foundation of the world” (Hebrews 4:3).

Many years ago, my father was deteriorating in his health condition and none could help him. While in the threshold of death, he had a heavenly visitation. The Holy Spirit showed him an angel writing something. Behind him lay many scrolls. The angel recorded the name of every person born, their date of birth, what they would do and when they would get back. My father looked at it. “Please look into my record and let me know when I am coming back here. I am a broken hearted man. The pain is unbearable and I cannot manage.” The angel hugged him. “Son! Your time has not yet come. Only at this point the ministry is going to begin. Go back. God will raise you.”

The Almighty God has planned everything in detail concerning the life of His children. As each child of God wait upon the Lord to receive the blessings planned by God they shall mount up like eagles.

There is a beautiful time fixed by God in the life of everyone (Ecclesiastes 3:1-11). Everything is attached with a time factor. And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart (Galatians 6:9)

If you follow the timetable of God without fainting only then will you be able to reap a rich reward. Waiting, trusting and following God’s timetable is not easy. However, being in the flesh, we fail in many things. (James 3:2). We miss out on the timetable of God and lament. “Where is God? Why this delay? Does He not know that I tithe, pray, sacrifice and preach the gospel faithfully? Then why the delay?” Many a times and oft, we consider God as a coffee or vending machine or more like the ATM. However, God does not work like that.

You claim having done many things and expect certain things in response. On the contrary, when you don’t receive what you expect you break down. In other words you become faint, weary and weak so much so that none can comfort you. Those who wait on the Lord, they shall inherit the earth. Psalms 37:9

Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but when the desire comes, it is a tree of life (Proverbs 13:12).

Prayer:

Almighty God,

My heavenly Father! My heart is very weary. It is fainting within me. I draw no comfort from the words of my friends and dear ones. Their words are nice to pronounce, wonderful to hear and beautiful to look at. However, they grant me no comfort at all. In Your abundant mercy look upon me with favour. Help me to wait at Your feet. The process of waiting is very painful to me. Please strengthen me during this time. Let me know that my miracle from Your hands is on the way. Bless me this day and prosper all my efforts.

In Jesus’ name I pray.

Amen.
