MERCY UNITESSpeaker: Dr. Paul Dhinakaran Gist: God wants to bless your family today. In the year 1992, a Jesus Calls meeting was held in Delhi. About two hundred thousands of people (two lakhs) had gathered there. At night, I interviewed some of the people who had received miracles through the prayers offered.
A young couple along with their darling child came to the podium. Tears kept flowing like a stream from both their eyes. I asked the man, “Why are you crying? What happened?” That man could not speak anything. Tears choked his throat.
The woman looked straight at me. “Sir! Everyday my husband and I fought with each other over financial issues. Financial problems crushed us so much so that we finally separated. We lived a life of loneliness. In this context, our child suffered greatly. We did not know what to do. I came to this meeting hoping that God will help me. I never knew that my husband had also come for this meeting. Finally when you gave the altar call saying, ‘How many of you want this Jesus Christ in your heart? How many of you would like to be healed and freed from your sins?’ I came running forward. My husband had also come here from somewhere else. We met each other just in front of you before this podium. The divine love of God has been poured into our hearts and Jesus Christ has forgiven our sins. Right here, we both reconciled. The Lord Jesus Christ has united us back again as husband and wife.”
They shed tears of joy. One vital statement they both confirmed was this. “Jesus Christ has forgiven us the sin of separating each other from the bond of husband and wife – the family.
What separates a husband and wife?
Sin (1 John 2:16).
What is sin? Sin comes from the world that is run by the devil. It is the pride of life, lust of the eyes and lust of the flesh. It is the pride of life that separates the bonding called husband and wife. In pride, the husband shouts at the wife and vice-versa. Sometimes the husband is gripped by the lust of the eyes that he goes behind other women hating his own wife. Sometimes it is the wife who lusts for more money, jewels and costumes thereby bringing financial problems home. She forces her husband into taking loans after loans throwing the family into a tight corner. Subsequently who suffers? It is the children.
If a man does not take care of his family then he denies his faith. (1 Timothy 5:8)
My dear Friend, it is dangerous for the husband and wife to have difference of opinion and fight with each other. It is sin. The husband and the wife should not have pride of life or lust of the eyes and bring separation in the family.
Today, if there is no peace in your family cry like the tax collector. Don’t blame your spouse or your children. Blame yourself then the Lord will show mercy. If your husband is a drunkard, don’t keep pinpointing, “you are a drunkard” instead you pray for him. A believing wife sanctifies the husband and vice-versa.
Your spouse may be a drunkard or your children are rebellious. Whatever be your plight, cry out today. “Lord! Forgive me.” God will forgive and grant you His mercy. The blessings of the Lord will come upon you and your family.
God wants to bless you today.
In that family at Delhi, the husband and wife repented individually. God removed the sin of separation. Whom God has united, man has no power to separate. Get back to God and He will heal you. Receive healing for you and your family through Jesus Christ - the Bedrock of Wedlock.
Jesus Christ is waiting for you.
Prayer:
Almighty God,
You consecrated the institution called marriage and told that whom You have united, man has no power to separate. Forgive my wrong doings and help me love my spouse just as You love me unconditionally. Give me the anointing of the Holy Spirit and the fruit of the Spirit so that I will build my family for the glory of God. Keep my family as a beacon of light in this dark world.
In Jesus’ name I pray.
