HONOUR THE CRUCIFIED ONESpeaker: Dr. Paul Dhinakaran Gist: There is life for a look at the Crucified One. Where is God’s presence? “In every place where I record My name I will come to you, and I will bless you” (Exodus 20:24). The Lord who promised this, would surely come and bless you from wherever you call upon His name.
The Almighty God waits for answering your prayers. He comes and blesses you when two or three are gathered together in His name. What should those people who are gathered together in His name be doing? Two of Christ’s disciples who were deeply troubled kept walking towards the village called Emmaus. On the way, they kept talking about the sufferings and the death of Christ. Their hearts were broken (Luke 24:15).
The Bible says that Jesus Christ Himself joined them even as they kept conversing about Him. “but we preach Christ crucified,…” (1 Corinthians 1:23). When you preach about Christ the crucified, He descends in your midst. Together when you look at the Cross, where Jesus Christ shed His blameless blood for you then there is life for you. Cry out when you think of His sacrificial love.
Jesus Christ comes in your midst the moment you begin to speak about Him. (Isaiah 53:5) Always remember that only through the sufferings of our Lord Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary we have received the joy of salvation and our sins are forgiven. His suffering on the cross of Calvary alone fetched us the solution for all our problems, curses, sins and sicknesses
Many years ago, the man who abolished slavery in the United States of America was assassinated. When the mortal remains of Abraham Lincoln, the President was being carried through the streets, hundred thousands of people gathered on either sides for a glimpse of that great man. All of them had one message. “Here goes the man who set us free.” One woman lifted her son and exclaimed, “Son! Have a last look at the man who gave his life for you and me. He gave his life so that you may live darling! He has made a way for you to live in this world. He is dead. Have a last look at him.”
Today look at the cross and say, “Lord! I believe that You shed Your precious and sinless blood for me. I also believe that You were wounded so that my sicknesses would be healed. In order to remove the curses that had fallen upon me, You became a cursed person on the cross of Calvary.” When you look at the crucified One and honour Him, His presence descends. God will come in person and grant your pleas. Surely He will honour you, when you honour Him.
Prayer:
Loving Lord,
During this season of Lent, help me to meditate upon Your sufferings on the cross of Calvary and look unto You for all my needs both earthly and spiritual. Your sufferings on the cross says that there is life for anyone who looks to You for help. Help me make Your saving grace and loving kindness known to those who surround me this day. In Jesus' name I pray.
Amen. |
