TOTAL TRANSFORMATION

Speaker: Dr. Paul Dhinakaran

Gist: In this season of Lent, analyze your prayer life and humble before God.

In the Bible we read about people who humbled themselves before God and were exalted in their lives.

When Jesus lived in this earth, He shared a parable about a tax collector. His duty was to collect taxes from the people. Being a tax collector, he did not consider himself to be of high status but humbled himself to be an unrighteous person. He went to the temple of God and stood afar off. He did not dare even to raise his eyes to heaven but beat his breast and cried, 'God, be merciful to me a sinner!' (Luke 18:13,14). God saw his humility. He forgave his sins. Being made a righteous person, he went home as a justified one.

My friend, even when you humble yourself and plead before God saying, "Lord I am a sinner, have mercy on me", then the power of God will descend and cleanse you from your sins. In a minute the guilt of sin will disappear. You will be transformed to be His child. Just like the tax collector, you also will be made righteous.

Few years ago, the Jesus Calls Prayer Festival was organized in Eluru (Andhra Pradesh, India). Multitudes had gathered for the meeting and during the prayer time as led by the Holy Spirit I called out a person named "Prasad." I said, "Mr. Prasad, you are leading a sinful life by committing adultery. I see blood surrounding you. Jesus Christ is cleansing you with His precious blood." After a couple of minutes a man named Prasad came to the platform. He introduced himself as "Prasad" and openly confessed about his illegal relationship with a woman. He said, "I had been continuously tormented by a guilty feeling and therefore I came to this meeting. I thank the Lord Jesus Christ for cleansing me. I did see the blood of Jesus Christ being poured upon me. God was gracious to open my eyes and I saw Jesus Christ cleansing my sins. I was once an adulterer but now I am a child of God."

Dear Friend, it is not easy to stand before thousands of people and confess that you are an adulterer. But he humbled himself and testified before God. He was made righteous.

Humble before God and you will be exalted.

Prayer:

Loving Heavenly Father,

I fall at Your feet and submit my supplications to You this day. Fill my heart with joy and peace. Teach me to be humble. Prosper the efforts of my hands and fulfill the desires of my heart today. I offer this prayer through the name of Jesus Christ.

Amen.
