PATIENCESpeaker: Dr. Paul Dhinakaran Gist: There is a perfect timing planned by God for each act of mercy in the life of every man. Our God is One who has a lot of patience. He neither asks anyone to do something that He has not done nor travel in a path that He has not traversed before.
"And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them?” (Luke 18:7).
God listens patiently to all the petitions put forward by the people of the world day and night. He is waiting to grant justice to the people and therefore patiently hears all the supplications sent by the people. At the same time, God is also very patient so that He does not destroy the human beings because of His wrath. The Bible says, God is angry with the wicked people everyday but yet, He is patient and in His immense grace and mercy grants yet another chance for His children to change their wicked ways. That is the reason as to why we are not being consumed (Lamentations 3:22).
Therefore the Lord will wait, that He may be gracious to you; And therefore He will be exalted, that He may have mercy on you. For the Lord is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for Him. Isaiah 30:18
The eye of a patient visiting the eye doctor is first dilated. The nurse checks whether the retina has sufficiently opened up for the doctor to view it properly. If the opening of the retina is found to be insufficient once again eye drops are put into the eyes. Many a times it would be a waiting period during the time taken for it takes for proper dilation. This calls for the virtue called patience. Not only the patient but also the doctor has to wait during the period of dilation. Only then it is possible for the doctor to help us. In the same way, our loving Lord also waits patiently ever willing to help you. The dilation period instills the attribute of patience within us. At that time, God says, “Pray with patience.”
God has a timetable that is perfectly scheduled. "Known to God from eternity are all His works” (Acts 15:18) God has a plan in the life of every person on this earth. “My times are in Your hand…” (Psalms 31:15). "Man who is born of woman is of few days ….Since his days are determined, the number of his months is with You; You have appointed his limits’ (Job 14:1-5) If a man dies, shall he live again? All the days of my hard service I will wait, Till my change comes (Job 14:14).
There is a perfect timing planned by God for each act of mercy in the life of every man. He has made everything beautiful in its time (Ecclesiastes 3:11).
Prayer
Almighty God,
Please give me the grace to wait patiently at Your feet and know that You perfect everything beautifully in Your time. When my times are in Your hands I understand that You care for me. May I always have the patience to work in alignment with Your timetable and fulfill the plan and purpose for which you have brought me into this world. Prosper me according to Your will and make me glad this day.
In Jesus’ name I pray
Amen |
