PROSPEROUS LIFESpeaker: Dr. Paul Dhinakaran Gist: God of all riches became poor for our sake so that we can be made rich. The darkness of poverty in this worldly life is terrible. People entangled in poverty find their lives shattered. Hence to deliver the people from poverty our Loving Lord forsook his riches and became poor. This great God came into this world in flesh as a son of a carpenter. He experienced the bitterness of poverty in His life. God of all riches became poor for our sake so that we can be made rich.
"For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich" (2 Corinthians 8:9).
Luke 9:58 says, "Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head". He being God yet submitted Himself to live in poverty. He the Provider, lacked shelter of His own.
Perhaps today you may say, "I don't have a shelter of my own, financial problem is choking me, I have lost everything in life". Beloved, remember our Lord Jesus Christ has gone through this path and He understands the bitterness of your heart. He is a prayer answering God. He will fulfill your heart's desire.
In the year 1967, my loving parents underwent great financial constraint. My father was an officer in the State Bank of India. His earnings could run the family only for a couple of weeks and during the last week they faced crisis. Then when I was a five-year-old, they could not even afford me a new dress on my birthday. Financial needs broke their hearts.
But our Lord did not forsake them. He spoke to my father through 3 John 2, which says "Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers". My parents caught hold of this verse and prayed fervently for their needs to be met. He heard their prayers and blessed them.
God blessed my father with promotions and raised him to higher cadre. That was the end to all our financial problems. God became a Provider of our needs. The same God will lift you from your lowly state and will bless you in an abundant measure.
Prayer
Our Heavenly Father,
I thank You for being my Provider. Unworthy as I am, I come to Thy throne of grace seeking Your blessings in my life. You want me to prosper and that's why You forsook Your riches and became poor for me. Heal the bitterness of poverty in my life. Please meet all the needs in my life in the richness of Your glory. In Jesus name I pray,
