RENEWED STRENGTHSpeaker: Dr. D.G.S. Dhinakaran Gist: Those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength. After sending our supplications repeatedly to the Lord and having waited for a long time we wane in strength, faith, and become weary.
The Bible says. ‘Those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength’ Isaiah 40:31
‘When the desire comes, it is a tree of life’ (Proverbs 13:12)
‘A desire accomplished is sweet to the soul’ (Proverbs 13:19)
I came to the city called Chennai in the year 1972. At that time, the house in which I lived was situated on a highway. About hundred cars would pass by in one minute. I had a pet dog named Brownie. Early in the morning it would bid me farewell with tears and I would drive our in the 1963 year model black colour old ambassador car. Evening as the time approaches five Brownie would come and sit in the front of the house and would wait. Even if anybody called, it would neither respond nor go inside. Lifting both ears like a speaker it would keenly observe the cars passing by. Somehow, even when my car is a furlong distance away from home it would sense my coming and would jump with joy running inside and outside the house, irritating everyone at home as if something great is happening. It would shout for joy. The moment I stop the car and open the door it would rush with both it’s fore legs up in the air and put it right upon my shoulders. Holding me firmly it would lick all over my face and make me fresh.
Perhaps you have been patiently waiting for a week, a month or years together to receive blessings from the loving hands of the Lord. The Lord will make you happy today and grant you the desires of your heart. He will remove weariness and grant new strength to those who wait upon Him. Therefore, be of good cheer!
Prayer
Almighty God
Grant me the things that I have been longing for. I confess that at times my spirit becomes very weary so much so that I even fail to look up to You for help concerning those matters. I praise You for reminding me to wait patiently so that I may be renewed in strength and soar up. Your thoughts for me are always higher and beyond my comprehension. In Your loving kindness and mercy bless this day so that my desires may be accomplished and thereby make my heart to delight in You.
