FOR A LITTLE WHILESpeaker: Sis. Stella Dhinakaran Gist: God will wipe away tears from all faces. At a time when you lament, “Oh! I am going to be buried in my sorrow”, the loving Lord says, “your sorrow will be turned into joy” (John 16:20).
My dear Friend, are you browsing this website with great sorrow occupying your mind, the Lord tells you, “"Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble” (Matthew 6:34).
The Bible clearly tells us, "…In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world" (John 16:33). No one is exempted from experiencing trials and tribulations. It befalls the saints as well as the sinners alike. (Ecclesiastes 9:2). Suffering comes even to the righteous people (2 Timothy 3:12; Psalms 34:19).
A righteous man named Job who lost everything laments, "Oh, that my grief were fully weighed, and my calamity laid with it on the scales! For then it would be heavier than the sand of the sea.” The sorrow that came upon Job is indescribable.
My dear Friend, we live in a world wherein everyday we face situations that are bound to bring unexpected sorrow. You may worry saying, “Why has this situation befallen me? Thus far my life had been going very smoothly but suddenly why this calamity? Why is my family divided? Why should I have to grieve? Or, What had now happened to my child who was very good earlier?” My dear Friend, “Do not be worried.”
The word of God says, even while Job experienced the pinnacle of pain yet he said, “Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him” (Job 13:15). He firmly clung to the Lord by saying, “God knows the way that I take; when He has tested me, I shall come forth as gold” (Job 23:10). Job says that although both the sides of the road have sorrow and suffering yet the path in which he treads is a righteous one. Therefore, after the testing time is over he firmly says that he would glitter as gold. The Lord who transforms your suffering is in the midst of you. He will wipe away all your sorrows, sufferings, tears and make you shine as gold for His glory. The Almighty God is ever willing to help you if only you would ascertain whether you are traveling is a righteous path. Job endured with impeccable patience and God restored him double fold blessings.
In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ (1 Peter 1:6-7). God will take away all the sufferings that you have been enduring for a very long time because He alone has borne all our grief. (Isaiah 53:3-4; Matthew 26:37; Hebrews 5:7 Luke 22:44). Even while bearing all these sufferings God looked at the happiness that was in store for Him. “..looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God” (Hebrews 12:2). God has surely promised that He would change all your sorrow into joy and He alone has the power to do so. “The Lord God will wipe away tears from all faces” (Isaiah 25:8). Those who sow in tears shall reap in joy (Psalms 126:5).
Prayer
Almighty God,
Wipe away all my sorrows and restore happiness in double fold. Help me to travel taking the right path in my life’s journey knowing that all these trials and tribulations are just for a little while. Strengthen me this day because I know that You alone have the power to transform my sorrows into joy. Shower Your loving kindness and mercy on and around me this day.
In Jesus’ name I pray
Amen. |
