TRUSTING IN TROUBLED TIMESSpeaker: Sis. Stella Dhinakaran Gist: God will grant you a victorious life. Be of good cheer, God have overcome the world. What will happen if you put your complete trust on the Lord Jesus Christ? The hope that you have will never disappoint. “Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us” (Romans 5:5). When you place your total trust in the Lord you will never be disappointed.
Instead of your shame you shall have double honor, and instead of confusion they shall rejoice in their portion. Therefore in their land they shall possess double; everlasting joy shall be theirs. (Isaiah 61:7).
I am experiencing this life in Jesus Christ. For three years I had no children. Then the Lord blessed me with a boy and a girl. Although my daughter has gone to be with the Lord, yet she declares the word of God through the two or three songs that she sang during her life in this planet earth. Even today, when people hear the songs sung by her they say, “We were moved by those melodious songs.” Therefore be comforted my dear Friend.
The Lord delivered me from all the battles I had to face in life. After much agony, I received blessings after blessings. I feared facing the people and did not preach the word of God for many years. I used to be very afraid about the comments that people would pass and considered myself unworthy for doing anything for the Lord. Sitting in some corner, I kept feeling very sad about my disposition and hid myself from others. One day the Lord came in search of me and said, “My dear daughter! Why are you hiding like this? I am going to use you mightily” I responded, “Lord! This is never going to happen in my life.” However, if the Lord says something, He will surely make it come true. It is not only the Lord coming in person to speak to everyone but God also speaks through His Word – the Bible. It is exactly for this reason that most preachers insist on reading the Word of God daily. There is life and strength in His Word. The Lord Himself is the Word. (John 1:1) Many times the strength of God has flowed into me through His word. Whenever I am depressed I used to read the word of God with all humility and He has spoken to me. The same God would also speak and strengthen you. I was very depressed having lost my daughter. It was at that moment the Lord said, “My daughter! I would use you to bring comfort to others.”
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God” (2 Corinthians 1:3-4). Perhaps have you lost any of your dear ones, just look to God. Nothing of this world can comfort you only the loving Lord Jesus Christ can grant you divine consolation. The Lord said, “My daughter! How long are you going to be crying like this? Get up! I am going to keep you as a source of comfort for others.”
God will grant you a victorious life. He says, “ ….In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world" (John 16:33).
Prayer
Loving Lord,
Help me to look up to You always and particularly trust in You during times of trouble. I confess that there is life and strength in Your word. Strengthen my frame and bless all my efforts this day. May I live a victorious life this day as a witness for Your love, mercy and grace. In Jesus’ name I pray.
Amen |
