A servant to the Servant Speaker: Dr. Paul Dhinakaran Gist: God desires to be the One who serves and not the One who is being served. Finally God says, I am your servant. "For who is greater, he who sits at the table, or he who serves? Is it not he who sits at the table? Yet I am among you as the One who serves” (Luke 22:27).
God desires to be the One who serves and not the One who is being served. "If you ask anything in My name, I will do it” (John 14:14). Such is the love and humility of Christ. Whenever we stand in the platform and command an evil spirit to flee from a person in the name of Jesus Christ, He confirms the words uttered with signs, wonder and miracles. We ought to think of His unspeakable love and humility.
Quite often we get puffed up thinking, “I prayed and the rain stopped! My prayers made the woman get up from her wheel chair!” It is not we, but the One who calls Himself as the Servant. Therefore, it is our bounden duty to love Him with all our heart and humble ourselves before Him. “And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross” (Philippians 4:8)
Not only did He take the form of a servant on the cross of Calvary but even today He is a servant. Who are we that He should love us? Truly we are worthless people. “If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself” (2 Timothy 2:13). If only we realize the fact that Jesus Christ operates from being designated as a “Servant” none of us would allow entry to the word called “Pride”.
God wants us to be a servant to the Servant. How? He wants us to wait at His feet and He will show what He has planned for the world. Surely the Lord God does nothing, Unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets (Amos 3:7).
“……although the works were finished from the foundation of the world” (Hebrews 4:3) Every plan of God is finished from the foundation of the world. God is not making new plans everyday, the plan is already there. In due time, Christ died and arose from the dead. Everything is recorded in heaven. However, His plans are revealed to His prophets. What do these prophets do? When they receive the plan of God, they fast and pray saying, “Lord! Let this plan of Yours come true. Thy will be done.”
There was a widow called Anna who kept fasting and praying day and night in the Temple of God. She lived with her husband for seven years and lived upto the age of eighty four. Probably she would have fasted and prayed for nearly sixty years. Why did she fast and pray? She waited at the feet of the Lord to bring the Messiah down to planet earth. She prayed for the fulfillment of God’s promise. The moment she saw baby Jesus, she told everyone, “This is the person about whom I had been talking about.”
“Now when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints” (Revelation 5:8) Then another angel, having a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He was given much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all the saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne. (Revelation 8:3)
The saints of God are in the temple praying for God’s plan to be executed on earth. Even as they pray, their supplications are sent to the Throne of God as an incense to Him. It is a plan of God that the elders who are in the presence of God take these prayer requests in golden bowls to Him. God’s plans are sent in the form of incense through His saints to God and He says “Amen” God fulfills His plan only through the prayers of man.
My Friend, you need to become such a saint of God to really have an impact on the world. Jesus Christ is coming soon. Your responsibility is high and therefore you are called to be a servant. Do not take the Lord’s ministry for granted. Only when you wait at the feet of the Lord, He is willing to speak to you. God is in need of prophets who will make the will of God come true in the world. God never forsakes such people.
As soon as you get the word from God concerning the world you will never worry about the terror, economic crisis or sins because you will be aware as to what is coming. You will know the plan of God and you will never fear. You will say, “Lord! This is Your plan in the midst of these circumstances, please fulfill it.” You will never fear. God will just pronounce “Amen!” Today, God wants you to become such a person. God wants to talk to you, would you become His servant? If you are willing to be such a person, you will see signs, wonders and miracles. This is the only way for those who wish to see signs, wonders and miracles in their ministry. God is willing to speak to you but will you humble and say, “Lord! Your love for me is indescribable. You are my Father, Mother, Elder Brother and Servant.” With all humility I humble myself before You.
Many years ago, there lived a king in India. It was his custom to go around the city once every year being seated on his elephant throwing gold coins hither and thither. Once it so happened during one of his yearly trip there was a tumult and in panic the elephant started running helter-skelter. The king’s body guards were rushing behind the gold coins and there were none to save the king. At that moment, an Ethiopian slave jumped up on the elephant. Besides uttering something in the ears of the elephant, making it feel happy, and thereby taming it he also firmly held the king seated there. The elephant became quiet and the king was saved by the slave. The king asked him, “Son! You are a slave - a foreigner how come you have stood with me? Why didn’t you run after the gold coins?” The slave immediately responded, “Oh King! If I have you, then I have all the gold in the world with me.”
Today let us tell Jesus, “If I have You, I have everything else in this world. I will not run after the world but I will have You as the only joy in my life.” Let us submit our life into the loving hands of our Lord Jesus Christ this day.

Loving Lord,
Help me to always remember that I am an unworthy servant and give no room for pride to enter my heart. Grace me the grace to guard my heart with all diligence that I may say and do the things that are pleasing to You on this day. I confess that Your love for me is indescribable. Keep and protect me under Your healing wings. You alone are my Refuge. Bless all the efforts that I take today and help me reap a rich return. In Jesus matchless name, I pray.
