MORE THAN A MOTHERSpeaker: Dr. Paul Dhinakaran Gist: Can a woman forget her nursing child, and not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely they may forget, yet I will not forget you. Jesus says, “My child! You can trust me always. I will comfort you like a mother.”
“As one whom his mother comforts, so I will comfort you; and you shall be comforted in Jerusalem" (Isaiah 66:13)
"Can a woman forget her nursing child, and not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely they may forget, yet I will not forget you (Isaiah 49:15).
What does a mother do? The heart of a mother is one that wants her children to be comfortable. It is this virtue of a compassionate mother that made God spare even His own Son as a sacrifice on the cross of Calvary so that you and I could richly enjoy everything.
“He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?” (Romans 8:32)
God will take care and lead you therefore you can totally trust Him for anything and everything. Today, God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory. Let not your heart be troubled but allow the Lord to perform miracles in your life. Mary chose the good part. Just say, “Lord! You are my Mother. I am going to trust You and not be terrified looking at the cares of this world. You please satisfy me with your goodness everyday.”
The following is an incident as told by a bishop. “After my marriage I was appointed in a village church. The villagers were very poor people and I also did not have much money to meet the daily needs. Easter celebration was fast approaching and that being the first time along with my wife, I decided to give her a present. Unfortunately I had no money but only a blank cheque. My wife on the other hand had thought, “Lord! This being the first Easter along with my husband I do not even have enough money to cook good food for him.” Both of us sought the Lord diligently in our personal prayers separately. The following day, I received a belated marriage gift from a friend of mine who could not attend the wedding. It was a money order for twenty rupees (a huge amount many years ago).”
Truly, God is crucially accurate in meeting our needs because He is more than a Mother. Just trust Him and He will carry you through in all the spheres of your life.

Loving Lord,
I thank You from the bottom of my heart for being more than a mother. You are aware of all my needs even before I utter them. Please supply all my needs according to Your riches in glory. Prosper all my efforts this day and make me glad. In Jesus' name I pray.
