Remember the Living OneSpeaker: Dr. D.G.S. Dhinakaran Gist: Jesus Christ is interceding for us all the time. Do not be worried. On entering the temple of the Lord - house of God, church of the living God, just remember that He lives. “Remember that Jesus Christ, of the seed of David, was raised from the dead according to my gospel” (2 Timothy 2:8). St. Paul writes this epistle to Timothy stating that according to his gospel Jesus Christ was raised from the dead and tells him to remember Jesus Christ the living One. Jesus Christ who gave His life on the cross of Calvary is not dead anymore. Yes, He did shed His blameless blood but now He is alive.
When you come into the church of the living God, the ground and pillar of truth remember the living One. “I write so that you may know how you ought to conduct yourself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth” (1 Timothy 3:15) You and I must be reminded or we must remember that our God lives. It is amazing that the Bible repeats the word “Living God” twenty nine times.
John the divine while exiled in the island of Patmos was much shattered. “I was in the Spirit on the Lord's Day, and I heard behind me a loud voice, as of a trumpet” (Revelation 1:10). On the last day, He was filled with the Holy Spirit. Perhaps he had been crying, “Lord! I am all alone in this island. With these hands that blessed and healed the people, now I am breaking granite stones for building a new palace for the emperor of Rome.” He was mourning and lamenting and the Lord Jesus Christ came.
“And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. But He laid His right hand on me, saying to me, "Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last. "I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death” (Revelation 1:17,18). Do not be worried. On entering the temple of the Lord - house of God, church of the living God, just remember that He lives.
As One who lives, what does Jesus Christ do for us? “Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them” (Hebrews 7:25). Yes, He is interceding for us all the time.
“For we all stumble in many things. If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body” (James 3:2).
"Moreover, as for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the LORD in ceasing to pray for you; but I will teach you the good and the right way.” (1 Samuel 12:23) If I do not pray for you, I would be sinning against God. Many times we forget to pray.
“Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, When it is in the power of your hand to do so” (Proverbs 3:27) “Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin” (James 4:17).
“Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him” (1 John 3:15).
My dear Friend, we all stumble many times in such things. Forgetting to pray and help someone when you have the power to do so. That is the reason as to why the Lord Jesus Christ is interceding for you and me. Since He is alive forever, He is interceding for you and for me.
Prayer
Almighty God,
Help me to remember You always in my life. I confess that You are a living God. May I make it a point to always give the first place to you in all that I do. Bless the works of my hands. Let the thoughts of my mind glorify Your name.
I make this prayer, in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen |
