POWER TO BE A PEACEMAKERSpeaker: Sis. Stella Dhinakaran Gist: Surely He will transform any bitter situation and grant you His divine peace and joy in your family. Jesus Christ says "This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you." What do we get when the Holy Spirit comes into us? 2 Timothy 1:7 tells that, "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind." During the formative years of the Jesus Calls Ministry I had great fear. I would not even dare to sit in the dais along with my husband. My legs shivered if I were directed to a seat on the stage. I trembled with fear. But after I received the anointing of the Holy and surrendered myself completely into the hands of the Lord to do His ministry all the fear that tormented me vanished. Hallelujah.
The Lord grants His divine grace to proclaim His name with great authority even before hundred thousands of people. He is the One who grants us divine love, strength and boldness. He is waiting to use you for His glory. Not as a single person but as a family. Arise and shine. The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 3:16, 6:17 that, God desires that you be His holy temple and wishes to dwell in you and in your family. 1 John 4:17, your life will be turned upside down completely because He will transform you into His likeness.
There lived a certain sister who had accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Saviour. On account of a marriage decision dispute broke out in their family. Since there was justice in the side of that sister's sister she supported her very firmly. This caused great agitation among the other members of the family and they disliked her. Being her usual practice, even in such a situation, that sister offered personal prayer. At that time, the Holy Spirit spoke to her saying, "My dear daughter, I have chosen you to bring peace into your family and not divisions. Therefore, be at peace with them and do something that will lead them into the experience of salvation."
Immediately that sister responded saying, "Lord! I will obey You. Please give me Your divine strength. There is no fault in me but I will humble myself before all of them and remove the cause for this dispute." Her husband enquired, "Where are you going?" She responded saying, "The Holy Spirit spoke to me and therefore I am going out on this mission." Her husband said, "There is no fault on your side then why should you stoop down and humble yourself?" She said, "I wish to obey the voice of the Lord" and proceeded on her way. She visited the house of that person who spoke very ill of her carrying a bag full of delicious fruits and conducted herself in such a way as if nothing had happened between them. With the divine help of the Holy Spirit it is possible for you to be a peacemaker. On the one side, though she had fear as to whether they would chase her out of the house yet on the other side she was greatly strengthened in the Lord. The Lord descended took control of everything and she only spoke words of peace. Through her the Lord brought peace and harmony to the entire family members. Not only that, today the whole family has accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as their Saviour. Each of their family in return live as a testimony today. Just because one person obeyed and humbled herself to the voice of the Lord and became filled by the power of the Holy Spirit this great change was made possible. She was also a woman like us in this world but when the love of God was poured into her heart harmony and peace abided in her family.
Perhaps there may be divisions, strife, envy, pride, quarrels or fights among your family members and if you desire to be a peacemaker the Lord says, "Humble yourself today." Surely He will transform any bitter situation and grant you His divine peace and joy in your family. The Gospel according to St. John 15:12 says, "This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you."
Prayer
Almighty God,
My loving Father, I adore you. You alone are worthy of all the praises, glory and honour. Help me to humble myself always so that I may be a peacemaker throughout my life. Give me the grace to obey Your small still voice and know that obedience is always better than sacrifice. Fill me with Your divine love, peace and power that I may be an instrument for the extension of Your kingdom on earth.
