Then the Holy Spirit will fill you with His power and would bless you abundantly. "Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us." Romans 5:5
Today, let us meditate on the blessings that we would receive when the Holy Spirit fills our heart.
The Bible says, "But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth" Acts 1:8. When the Holy Spirit enters your heart, you receive a divine strength from above. Though weak, the Lord strengthens and makes you bold.
In Acts chapter four we read that Peter the disciple of Jesus Christ was an illiterate person. But after being filled with the Holy Spirit he received the power from above and proclaimed the word of God with great authority.
Bro. D.G.S. Dhinakaran surrendered his life into the hands of our loving Lord in the year 1955. After that, while reading the Bible one day a particular verse greatly impressed him. It is as follows "God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him." This verse greatly touched his heart. He then pondered, "If Jesus Christ had this experience, how much more it is essential that I also receive the same experience."
From then on, with this thought in mind, he began to pray fervently either while riding a cycle, or going to a shop saying, "Lord please fill me with the anointing of the Holy Spirit." In Isaiah 44:3 the Bible says, "For I will pour water on him who is thirsty, and floods on the dry ground; I will pour My Spirit on your descendants, and My blessing on your offspring." The Lord who gave this promise is always truthful. When you receive the anointing of the Holy Spirit the Lord abides with you.
In the book of Genesis, we read an account about the life of Joseph who although being the beloved child to his father, had to encounter a lot of ordeals in his life. But the Bible clearly states that whenever he travelled through trails and tribulations, the Lord was with him. Dearly beloved, you are never alone while facing a problem. Always remember that the Lord Jesus Christ is with you and He will surely help you in continuing to do good things.
After seven years of continuous prayers, Bro. D.G.S. Dhinakaran received the experience that he diligently sought after. On hearing this good news, I also prayed fervently and received the anointing of the Holy Spirit even when Paul Dhinakaran was a small child. Following this, one by one my son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren all the six members were filled by the anointing of the Holy Spirit.
When the Holy Spirit abides in a family, family union, one mindedness, cooperation, joy and happiness also enter that family. Today the Lord shall also fill you and your dear family members with the anointing of the Holy Spirit. The Bible says in 2 Timothy 3:1-5, "But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come. For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!" This is precisely the scenario witnessed in the world today. Parents have no love for their children and vice versa a state where everyone exists in a world devoid of love.
Therefore, as told in James 3:14-16, in people who are demonic, earthly and sensual the characteristics of the devil like bitter envy, self-seeking in your hearts, boasting against the truth, confusion and every thing evil exists. We become slaves to such virtues of the devil.
But the Lord grants His divine love through the Holy Spirit. The Bible says, "Walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma" in Ephesians 5:2 and "Above all these things put on love, which is the BOND OF PERFECTION" in Colossians 3:14.
Dearly beloved, often we are the cause for our family to lack in many things. Let us analyze our faults before the Lord. The Bible says, "But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away." The presence of the Lord is perfection. When we seek the Lord and offer our thanksgiving the presence of the Lord fills our family. The Holy Spirit descends and abides in our family.
Don't you want this experience? Even if you have a little time in hand, make it a point not to waste it but spend that time in praising God. Then the Holy Spirit will fill you with His power and would bless you abundantly.
Prayer
Heavenly Father,
I praise You because You have given us the Comforter, the Holy Spirit to strengthen us. On this day, I sincerely pray for anointing of the Holy Spirit to fill me and pour the love of God into my heart. Help me to seek You at all times and always praise Your holy name. Abide in me and my family and grant Your divine power to carry on peacefully in this world. Bless me and make me glad.
