Perfect Love

Speaker: Sis. Stella Dhinakaran

Gist: Even if you are caught in the miry clay of sin, the great love of God will lift you up because He has given His life for you. When people who are soaked in sin, leading unclean lives repent and turn to the Lord, He accepts them.

The Bible says in 1 John 4:8-10, "He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins." The love of our Lord Jesus Christ was openly manifested when He committed Himself to be crucified on the Cross of Calvary.

It is this great love of God that has done great things for us and would continue to do greater things for us in the days to come. If you are perturbed thinking about your future, know for sure that the great love of God is going to do marvellous and mighty things for you. The Bible says in 1 John 4:8,16, "He who does not love does not know God, for God is love... And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him." God is the perfect form of love.

The same message is conveyed in John 3:16, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." Ephesians 5:2 says, "Walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma." In Hebrews 10:7, we hear the Lord say, "Behold, I have come; In the volume of the book it is written of Me; To do Your will, O God." Jesus Christ the only begotten Son of the Heavenly Father, and He submitted Himself totally to the will of the Father and thereby greatly loved us.

You may say, "There is no one to love me in this world: not even one person who would enquire about me. My life is being wasted in such a worthless manner." Young people often say, "My parents express only bitterness towards us. We are greatly troubled." Dear friend, it is at such times that you are called to meditate upon the great love which was manifested for you on the cross of Calvary. This great love has the power to transform your life.

Many years ago, I lived a nominal Christian life. At that time, the Lord revealed His love to me. In my hostel room, when I was of the opinion that the love of my parents was everything to me in this world, the Lord showed me that His love for me was greater than anything in this world. He filled me with His divine love. A fresh chapter opened up in my life. Since the day I experienced His love for me, several decades have passed by and my Lord has always been leading and guiding me with the same love. During these long years of my journey, I have travelled through the valley of tears and sorrows several times; but my Lord has always held me in His hands. The good news is that this great love of God is free to everybody. When this love of God is in your heart, your family life will be filled with joy.

We read of Zacchaeus in the Bible. The moment Zacchaeus came to know of the Lord Jesus Christ, a longing to see Him developed in his heart. It was, indeed, a very small desire. But he pursued it. Being short in stature, he climbed upon a sycamore tree to see Him. The Lord went to his home. The people who stood there complained, saying, "He has gone to be a guest with a man who is a sinner." The world would say, "Would God love this person who lacks in so many things?" Jesus Christ responded saying, "The Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost." The Lord said to Zacchaeus, "Today salvation has come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham" (Luke 19:9). The love with which the Lord looked into the heart of Zacchaeus is amazing!

Today, the Lord looks at your heart and is aware of the desires in it. The people of this world may mock, laugh and ridicule you; but remember what the Lord says: "My dear child, I have come in search of you. I gave My life for you." Do not be discourged, because the love of our Lord Jesus Christ is immeasurable. Even if you are caught in the miry clay of sin, the great love of God will lift you up because He has given His life for you. Though there may be people who are soaked in sin and leading unclean lives, the Lord accepts them when they turn toward Him and repent. The Lord has great compassion on such people.

God met Zacchaeus and offered Him the greatest gift called 'salvation'. He said, "Today, salvation has come to this house." The Lord says the same thing to you, "My dear child, I have come in search of you to save you. I would like to offer salvation to you and your home."

In John 17:3, it is stated, "This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent."

The extent to which you know about God would bring eternal life to you. If you who wish to know more about Jesus, His nature, how He would build your life and transform your life, God comes in search of you today. The Bible says, "The eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him" (2 Chronicles 16:9). Surely, the Lord will transform the lives of those who seek Him diligently and manifest His glory in their lives.

May the Lord fill you with His divine love!

Prayer:

Loving Lord Jesus,

I offer my thanks because You have offered me the greatest gift called 'salvation'. Great is Your love for me because it has done great things. I believe that it would continue to do greater things for me in the days to come. Whenever I am perturbed thinking about what the future has in store for me, Your love reveals the marvellous and mighty things that You are doing for me. Give me Your grace and help me to taste Your indescribable love for me. All praise, honour and glory belong to You.

Amen.
