THE FATHER'S DELIGHTSpeaker: Sis. Stella Dhinakaran Gist: Psalm 143:10, "Teach me to do Your will, for You are my God; Your Spirit is good. Lead me in the land of uprightness." I will guide you with My eye. This is our Father's delight. The Bible says in Songs of Solomon chapter 2 verse 4, "And his banner over me was love." I led a nominal Christian life not having tasted the in depth love of Christ till the age of sixteen. Then in a particular phase of life when I perceived the drifting of all human bonds, I sought refuge in the Lord and looked up to Him alone. He poured His Holy Spirit into my heart. From that day onwards He has never forsaken me through all these years. He walks and talks with me at every step of my life. The same unchanging Lord is with you.
Therefore, do not be troubled but first of all analyze whether you have opened your heart to Jesus Christ. As it is written in III John 2, " Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers", the Lord desires and delights in the prosperity of your family. The Bible says in Matthew 18:14, "Even so it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish." The Lord delights only in blessing His people.
While reading the Bible, I happened to find a particular verse in the form of a prayer. The Psalmist says in Psalm 143:10, "Teach me to do Your will, for You are my God; Your Spirit is good. Lead me in the land of uprightness." If you read this verse early in the morning and surrender yourself into the loving hands of the Lord surely He will bless you. What does the Lord say? He says, " I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye." This is our Heavenly Father's delight.
The earthly father may lead a life of his own, without care or concern for his family. Whatever be the things that rise up against you, they shall not affect you for your Lord holds you lovingly in His hands, shows you the path and leads you gently. This happens only when you surrender yourself by offering the simple prayer as told in Psalm 143:10.
Prayer
My heavenly Father,
I praise You for the words that You speak are spirit and life. Help me to read Your word every day and delight in it. Give me the grace to experience that Your word is health to all my flesh. Shower Your choicest blessings and prosper all the works of my hands today.
