HUNDREDFOLD BLESSINGSpeaker: Dr. Paul Dhinakaran Gist: In Jesus are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge (Colossians 2:3). When you invite the Lord Jesus, the Holy Spirit comes and dwells in you. When the Spirit of God comes into you, the treasures of wisdom and knowledge also come into you. (Message delivered by Dr.Paul Dhinakaran during the Students Meet 2004 at Chennai, especially for the exam-going students)
"Isaac sowed in that land, and reaped in the same year a hundredfold; and the Lord blessed him. The man began to prosper, and continued prospering until he became very prosperous." (Genesis 26:12-13)
Just like Isaac, you too are going to be blessed a hundred times. The Lord blessed Isaac and is now willing to come near you, touch you and bless you to make you prosper a hundredfold, not only in your studies, but in every aspect of your life. To be blessed like Isaac, you will have to have certain qualities that were in Isaac.
What did Isaac do so that he received such a big blessing? He sowed the seed. Only when you sow, you can reap a hundredfold. Isaac sowed the seed in the land and that was where he put his effort. The Lord blessed his effort. We too have to sow the seed.
The First Seed: Lord Jesus Christ
We must sow God Himself in our lives. The Lord Jesus says, "I stand at the door of your heart and knock. If you hear My voice and open the door, I will come in" (Revelation 3:20). When you invite Him into your heart, saying, "Lord Jesus, come into my heart!" then you have truly sown God in your life.
The Bible says, "Jesus, became for us wisdom from God" (1 Corinthians 1:30). Jesus is the personification of all wisdom. Wisdom is 'in' Him and He Himself is wisdom. In Jesus are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge (Colossians 2:3). When you invite the Lord Jesus, the Holy Spirit comes and dwells in you. When the Spirit of God comes into you, the treasures of wisdom and knowledge also come into you. You may be a weak vessel. When you invite the Lord with love and reverence, you sow God in your life; then the source of all wisdom comes into you and wisdom automatically flows out of you. When you invite this God who is full of wisdom in your life, the spirit of fear leaves you; His power descends on you; A great confidence comes into your heart; And you will be able to say, "Surely, I will be victorious!" as you get a sound and clear mind.
When I was doing my B.Sc., I was away from God. When the exam time came, I was full of fear. I was greatly worried and trembling. When I opened the book, everything looked new. But when I committed my heart and life to God, the first thing I did was to pray, saying, "Lord, please come into me. I don't have the confidence to face my exams." At that time, God filled me with His Spirit. His joy filled my heart and life. I could feel His presence with me. After that, whenever I opened the book, a confidence filled my heart. I had the faith and hope that the God of all wisdom is with me, and He will surely help me. As I began to study, I put a chair next to me and I pleaded God to come and take the chair. Before reading every page, I would keep my hand on that page and pray, and only after that I would begin to learn. The whole lesson would stay in my mind. Great joy and excitement would come into my heart. With great joy, I wrote my exams. I was able to score good marks in all the subjects. I received degrees after degrees. At the age of 26, I became one of the youngest Doctorate degree holders in Management Sciences from the University of Madras.
Today, pray to the Lord, saying, "O Lord of all wisdom! Come into my heart. I sow You, the source of all wisdom, in my heart. Please come and give me hundredfold blessings and victory. Everyone who sows Christ in their lives will reap a hundredfold blessings in their personal lives. The Lord is able to do great and mighty things for you. Nothing is too hard for Him.
Prayer
My heavenly Father,
I praise You for Your judgments are unsearchable and Your ways are past finding out. On this day, I open my heart and ask You to abide with me forever. Lord, please come to dwell in my heart and grant me Your wisdom to discharge all that I have to do today. Give me hundred-fold blessings like the seed which fell on a good ground. Prosper me and make me glad just like how You prospered the efforts of my forefather Isaac.
In Jesus' name I pray.
Amen.
