Wait For the LordSpeaker: Dr. Paul Dhinakaran Gist: If you seek the presence of the Lord, prior to the devil's endevour. Seek His presence early in the morning and get overwhelmed by His spirit, you thieve the thief, snatching away the vigour of the devil's trials and distresses. "Seek the Lord and His strength; seek His face evermore!" (1 Chronicles 16:11).
David waited in the Lord's presence, early in the morning everyday; that is why he became a mighty nation.
A very young boy was playing near a deep well. All of a sudden he espied a cruel rough man approaching him. Realising that the horrible man should be a robber, he started to make a big hue and cry. The surprised robber queried, "Why make a horrible outcry. The young lad explained, "While playing around, I dropped my silver vessel in the well. The robber encouragingly said, "Why are you scared? I will help you; wipe away your tears." Entrusting his baggage with the small boy, the robber jumped into the well, with the unexpressed idea that he could search out the costly silver bag and run away, appropriating it. He dived into the water, searched for the silver piece meticulously for a long time. All in vain! Even the deepest bottom did not betray any indication of the vessel. It was bitter cold deep inside. Suddenly, gripped by a creeping doubt, the impish boy had cheated him he climbed up quickly out of the well. But alas! There was no trace of the boy at all. Along with the boy the man's belongings also had vanished into thin air. The boy had thieved the thief. The robber, rapped in anguish over the loss of his entire loot, returned shame-faced.
"The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly."(John 10:10)
Every day, the devil schemes to invest in us sinful habits and annihilate us, by ushering into our lives, trials and tribulations and abolishing our peace and joy. But, if you seek the presence of the Lord, prior to the devil's endevour, seek His presence early in the morning and get overwhelmed by His Spirit, you thieve the thief, snatching away the vigour of the devil's trials and distresses. You are mightily enveloped by God's presence so that the devil cannot over turn you. God gives you the strength to triumph over satan's trials, the whole day.
Prayer:
Loving Heavenly Father,
Give me the strength to overcome satan's trials. Protect me from the evils of this world. Be with me always guiding me and leading me the way You want me to live. In Jesus' matchless name, I pray.
Amen. |
