Spring of WisdomSpeaker: Dr. Paul Dhinakaran Gist: Friend, will you open your heart today to our Lord Jesus and invite Him to come and dwell with you. When you open your heart, Lord Jesus Christ will enter into you. He is the source of all knowledge and wisdom. What is the abode God wished to dwell in, in this world?
“Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?” (1 Corinthians 6:19).
Our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit; that is why God dwells in our body! To create this phenomenon, He gives us His wisdom and modifies our body. But the pathetic fact is that even before He comes to dwell in our body, ‘the god of this age’ (the damning devil) ‘has blinded’ our minds (2 Corinthians 4:4). The devil ‘is a liar and the father of it’; he is a murderer, according to the Bible (John 8:44).
There is a story of a young man, having lost his heart to a girl, was shadowing her, wherever she went. One day the girl asked him if he would give her anything she asked for, if he truly loved her. He replied: ‘I will do anything for your sake’. Then the girl posed this preposition: “Go home, pluck out the heart of your mother and fetch it to me; then I will believe that you really love me!” That fool of a fellow, cut out his mother’s heart and sprinted back to the girl. On the way, he stumbled and fell down. At that time, the loving voice of his mother sounded in his ears: ‘Son, go slowly and cautiously’. The boy’s mind’s eye opened up just then. He wailed: ‘Alas, I have erred terribly; I have murdered my beloved mother; for the sake of a silly worldly pleasure, I have lost my precious mummy!’
This is how Satan blinds our mind’s eyes and induces us to commit wicked deeds, which break the hearts of our parents. Through those devilish deeds, we stab and smash again the heart of the Lord of lords, who was crucified on the bitter Cross, died and rose again. The Devil prompts us to do unworthy deeds just to please our sinister friends; he blinds our eyes, leads us straight towards hellish desires, without allowing us to approach God. But our dear Lord gives us good counsel, diverts us from evil ways and builds up our lives. He transforms our body into a holy abode, giving us wisdom, so that He can reside in our heart.
“Then you will understand righteousness and justice, Equity and every good path. When wisdom enters your heart, And knowledge is pleasant to your soul, Discretion will preserve you; Understanding will keep you.” (Proverbs 2:9,10,11)
“But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God; and righteousness and sanctification and redemption.” (1 Corinthians 1:30)
If you open up your heart today, Jesus Christ will enter into you. In Him, 'are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge' (Colossians 2:3). When the spring of wisdom dwells in you, your eyes will be opened. He will help you to live a righteous life.
Even in the case of life of Jesus Christ, though He was abundantly filled with the Holy Spirit, He was tempted for forty days by the devil, who first, took Him up on a high mountain, showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time and told Him, "All this authority I will give You, and their glory; for this has been delivered to me and I give it to whomever I wish. Therefore, if You will worship before me, all will be Yours." Jesus answered and said, "Get behind Me, Satan," and overcame him by a 'word of God' (Luke 4:1-13).
Dear friend, Jesus who has conquered the devil, the tempter, having nailed him to the Cross, will give you grace to overcome the temptations, the devil casts on you. He will come into you as you attempt to overtake temptations. He will fill you with the Holy Spirit and enable you to conquer the temptations.
Prayer:
Loving Heavenly Father,
You are the source of all knowledge and wisdom. I surrender myself completely to You. I open my heart wide and invite You to come and dwell with me forever. Protect me from all trials and tribulations. Help me to overcome all temptations with Your divine strength. Fill me with Your divine knowledge and wisdom. Grant me Your grace to understand the mysteries of Your life-giving words. Shield me from all forces of darkness and keep me safe under Your mighty wings. In Jesus' matchless name, I pray.
Amen. |
