The Lord Who Satisfies YouSpeaker: Dr. D.G.S. Dhinakaran Gist: When you are true and faithful to God even in that situation, He will feed you with the finest wheat, fill you with abundant blessings and satisfy our souls with honey from the rock. Therefore rejoice! Many times we do go through severe ‘drought’ in our lives. That is why the preacher describes lucidly:
"To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven… a time to gain, and a time to lose…" (Ecclesiastes 3:1,6).
Even when I worked as an officer in a Bank, poverty taunted us. The salary I received was just enough for three weeks, and I would be anticipating the next salary day, when the fourth week turned up. In this drought-period of my life, when I went up and down to pray for people, they used to give me their offerings, asking me to use them for the ministry. Even in those hard times, I never touched the money offered for my personal use. I would spend it only for the ministry of God. God who saw my truthfulness and self-effacing sacrifice permitted me to traverse the path of financial indigence only for three more years.
One day God told me, "My son, your penury will be wiped out from today. It was I who put you through this phase of indigence. I wanted to test if both of you and even during these hard times you were truthful to my ministry and to Me. I have found truthfulness in you both. So, from today onwards, I will bless you, your souls will be satisfied". The Lord did as He promised.
"He would have fed them also with the finest of wheat; And with honey from the rock I would have satisfied you." (Psalm 81:16)
"A faithful man will abound with blessings, but he who hastens to be rich will not go unpunished." (Proverbs 28:20).
"Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord, but those who deal truthfully are His delight." (Proverbs 12:22)
Dear friend, in tune with these words, even during the drought situation in our lives, when we have the truth in us, He will surely feed us 'with the finest wheat'. He will fill us with abundant blessings. He will satisfy our souls with 'honey from the rock'.
Prayer:
Loving Heavenly Father,
You are the wonderful Lord, who does everything perfectly at Your appointed time. Help me to be truthful and faithful in all the things that You have entrusted in my hand. When I undergo through drought situation in my life, help me not to murmur against You, but to be patient and truthful. Grant me Your divine grace to be content with what You have provided me. I believe that You will surely satisfy me with Your richest blessings. In Jesus' matchless name, I pray.
