Divine Wisdom Speaker: Dr. Paul Dhinakaran Gist: The Lord wants to endow you with His wisdom and exalt you in this world. When you obey your parents, you will grow in wisdom and stature and He will place within you, His unique wisdom. Friend, our God, who by wisdom made the heaven (Psalm136:5) Will give you the same wisdom according to His own wisdom.
Daniel acknowledges and lauds God saying, "I thank You and praise You, O God of my fathers; You have given me wisdom." (Daniel 2:23) Sir Isaac Newton was a confirmed believer. But he had a friend, who did not believe in God. He used to dispute, quite often, with Newton, his contention being, 'There is no God'. One day the great scientist, Newton, designed different spheres of the universe to revolve around the sun, using the principle of a wheel. It was an impressive astronomical spectacle of the different spheres circling around the sun in their orbits. The atheist friend happened to come in, at that time. He was amazed and articulated his wondrous feelings asked Newton, 'Who made this?' Newton, paradoxically replied with sarcasm, "No one made this; this came here by itself" The loaded joke opened the eyes of the atheist. He learnt, by his own volition, that if a wise man was required for creating a mini toy universe, there should exist an Almighty God to create the factual universe.
"For God gives wisdom and knowledge and joy to a man who is good in His sight" (Ecclesiastes 2:26)
"Children, obey your parents in all things, for this is well pleasing to the Lord" (Colossians 3:20)
Today many young people find it difficult to obey their parents. But it is what is pleasing to the Lord. Look at Jesus, who set an example to us, in every way. "Then He went down with them and came to Nazareth, and was subject to them, but His mother kept all these things in her heart. And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men" (Luke 2:51,52). As He was perfectly obedient to His parents, He 'became strong in spirit, filled with wisdom.' (Luke 2:40).
In the Old Testament History, as the young man Solomon obeyed his parents, sincerely, he excelled in Wisdom. He was given by God, 'a wise and understanding heart' (1 Kings 3: 12). It has been recorded in the Bible: "God gave Solomon wisdom and exceedingly great understanding, and largeness of heart like the sand on the seashore" (1 Kings 4: 29). As the young man Bezaleel obeyed his parent - figure, Moses, he was given much superb wisdom.
Friend, the Lord wants to endow you with superabundant wisdom and wants to exalt you in this world. When you too are obedient to your parents, you will also grow in wisdom and stature and He will place within you, His unique wisdom so that people will reckon you as one of exceeding wisdom.
Prayer:
Dear Father,
You know the difficulties I am facing in my life. I am in a helpless state. I come to You seeking Your help and guidance. Lord You have said, "I will instruct You and teach You in the way You should go; I will guide You with my eye" yes Lord! be with me and give me an understanding heart. It is nothing for You to help a weak person. My mind is too weak and I always lose all my confidence. I plead with You to strengthen me and grant me Your abundant grace so that I may live with confidence. Let Your power engulf me Lord and let every unwanted fear flee from me. Send me help from above and make me a success in life. I know You'll do it because Your love for me is incomparable. Thanks for listening to me. In Jesus' name, I pray.
Amen. |
