Perfect HolinessSpeaker: Sis. Stella Dhinakaran Gist: When you pray intensely to the Lord, He will surely fill you with the Holy Spirit. When you are filled with the Spirit more and more, the love of God will be poured into your heart. He will transform your life into a holy one. God is the Holiest of the holiest. We, who are His followers, should perfect our being holy. This is His will. Holiness should not be apparent in the exterior, but it should be manifested in our innermost soul. Jesus Christ is a role model for us, in this respect. Though, traversing through all human tribulations, like us. He lived a pure, blameless life.
"Which of you convicts Me of sin? And if I tell the truth, why do you not believe Me?" (John 8:46)
This was His candid, defiant challenge He could throw in the presence of all people. He, in fact set us an example of a holy life, which we have to follow. Yet our flesh is weak, we commit errors against our own inclination.
"For the good that I will to do, I do not do; but the evil I will not to do, that I practice." (Romans 7:19)
According to how St. Paul has phrased our predicament, in the 'word', we become subject to the devil's designs. Only in order to avert the evil impact of our weaknesses, He anointed Jesus Christ Himself with the Holy Spirit (Acts 10:38; John 3:34).
How imperative it is for us to receive the Holy Spirit, which He had received.
When Jesus was arrested by His enemies, His disciples chose to run away in fear. One of His closest disciples, Peter, even betrayed Him saying, "I do not know the Man". Such willful sins emerge out of the want of the Holy Spirit. After, the disciples received the Holy Spirit their lives were packed with power.
When I came to know that my husband was granted this lofty experience, several years ago, I began to pray, with tears, that I should also live in close proximity to God, securing the holy anointing. The whole day would be spent in reading the Bible, and the whole night in anticipatory prayer, "O Lord, fill me also with the Holy Spirit'. One evening when the whole family was gathered in the front Hall, I was alone in a room, kneeling down to pray loudly. But on that particular day, I praised the Lord loudly, from the inner depths of my soul. I forgot myself, in a few seconds. The loud orchestrated articulation of my praise shook the whole house and stunned my people. God had filled me, measurelessly, with His Spirit. Right from that day, my life was completely transformed. At the present day, the strength of the Holy Spirit induces me to do the Lord's ministry with conviction and zeal.
"Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened." (Luke 11:9,10)
Dear friend, pray intensely to the Lord, who assured us by His response, thus. The faithful Lord will grant you also this elevating experience. As you are filled with the Holy Spirit, more and more, the love of God will be poured into your hearts (Romans 5:5). All deficiencies in your life will flee away, 'that which is in part will be done away" (1 Corinthians 13:10) transform your life into a holy one. He will take charge of your family. You will receive the same serene experience, by His grace, as He did His three disciples, while Jesus was transfigured on the Mount.
May the Lord Himself command a life of perfect blessing on you and change you into a blessed person.
Prayer:
Loving Heavenly Father,
Grant me the anointing of the Holy Spirit, which is the strength of the spiritual life. Relieve me from all weakness. Grant me Your divine grace to wait at Your feet daily. Help me to be attentive to what the Holy Spirit tells me and to do according to His command. In Jesus' matchless name, I pray.
Amen. |
