Allow God To Perfect Your LifeSpeaker: Sis. Stella Dhinakaran Gist: God knows everything. When you submit all your affairs in His hands, He will perfect them beautifully. “He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end.” (Ecclesiastes 3:11)
A mother had written to me, greatly worried, about the non-settlement of her daughter’s wedding. I pointed to her, the above mentioned verse, in my reply and comforted her by saying that God will make everything beautiful in His own time and suggesting to her that she should thank Him, repeating the fore going verse and that she should allow her to be dominated by the Lord’s strong hand, remembering the Biblical word, ‘Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time’ (1 Peter 5:6). I assured her that God who is near her, who wants not to make much of her imperfections, wants to shower blessings on her, which He would do at the right time. This was my reply to her. The mother followed my suggestions. She poured out her anxieties to God about her daughter, ‘by prayer and supplication, with thanks giving' (Philemon 4:6,7). After reciting the verse, her prayer was: ‘Lord, you are with me; You listen to my prayer; You are aware of my anxieties. I thank You for You are going to give my daughter a suitable husband’.
Days passed. That mother gave this witness: “Madam, the marriage of my daughter has been settled. I trust absolutely that God makes everything beautiful in its time, as you made it clear to me”. The marriage was solemnized grandly. That daughter wrote to me as a witness: “Madam, God truly makes everything beautiful in its time. My husband, a virtuous man keeps me happy. God has made me wait until He chose a good husband for me.”
Dear friend, God knows everything. When you submit all your affairs in His hands, He will perfect them beautifully.
So did Jacob, by surrendering all his problems to God, who helped to sort our each one. We can find the blessing he ultimately received in the following verse: “Happy are you, O Israel! Who is like you, a people saved by the Lord, the shield of your help And the sword of your majesty! Your enemies shall submit to you, and you shall tread down their high places" (Deuteronomy 33:29). God presented a new nomenclature (name) to Jacob, Israel and He called him son and blessed him. A great new generation chosen by God was moulded through him.
Consider the family of Job, which was shattered. Job lost all his ten children, wealth and properties; moreover he was tormented by a terrible disease; boils all over his body. But at the end, he turned to be a blessed man. According to the verse, “You have heard of the perseverance of Job and seen the end intended by the Lord” (James 5:11). God who saw his perseverance gave him back his possessions twofold and blessed him.
Dear friend, God who blessed Jacob and Job that day, will bless you too. You will be blessed by Him, with worldly gifts, and with Spiritual gifts of the soul, as well.
Before His ‘Ascension’, Jesus commanded His disciples ‘to wait for the Promise of the Father (Acts 1:4). He assured them that He would send ‘the Promise of My (His) Father upon you (wait) until you are endued with the power from on high’ (Luke 24:49). Obeying the Lord, His disciples, His mother, the faithful women and His brothers tarried, in prayer. In accordance with the word of God’s promise, “And it shall come to pass afterward that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh” (Joel 2:28), God sent His ‘Anointing’ on His people. (Acts 2:2-7). After the Disciples received the ‘Anointing’, they were transformed; they were granted by God His Power and Authority which Jesus had, while on earth so that they could comfort His people, healing them and hauling (pulling) them towards the Lord.
My dear friend, even today, God will fill you with His anointing and power and also with the fruit of the Spirit (nine) (Galatians 5:22) and the nine Gifts of the Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:8-11). He is so near to you now, ready to give these blessings if you seek Him longingly. He will comfort your broken hearts. He will, at the proper time, bless you both in terms of this world and the world of the Spirit.
Prayer:
Loving Heavenly Father,
I thank You with all of my heart for fulfilling all my needs at Your appointed time. Lord, Your ways are always perfect and beautiful. I submit all my burdens and problems at Your feet. Teach me to be patient in all walks of my life. Fill me with Your Divine Holy Spirit and decorate me with all the nine gifts, Lord. In Jesus' mighty name, I pray.
Amen. |
