The Lord is Very Near To YouSpeaker: Sis. Stella Dhinakaran Gist: The Lord is aware of your broken-heartedness. Do not think that He has forgotten you but always remember that He has inscribed you on the palm of His hand. He is always near you. He will surely console your broken heart. In the Holy Bible we read of a man named Jacob who lived almost the whole of his life with a broken heart. His own elder brother was hostile to him and he was prepared to kill Jacob. Because of unrest in the family, he obeyed his mother and fled to his uncle's house. There he laboured hard. He toiled for seven years to get the hand of Rachel, his uncle's daughter. But Laban, his uncle deceived him. Jacob's heart might have been shattered.
"The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, a broken and a contrite heart; These, O God, You will not despise"(Psalm 51:17).
Even today my dear friend, the Lord views your broken-heart and He will never despise your broken and contrite heart.
Once a young woman, with a broken-heart wrote to me thus: "My mother kept on abusing me with bitter words of scorn 'Your father died the very day you were born; after that the family undergoes terrible distresses, one after another; you have brought a curse to the family. You are a cursed girl.' I had my heart broken. I didn't want to live any more. I used to quiz myself, 'Why should I live?' longing to die. However bad the situation is, in the family, I use to listen to your FEBA Radio Programme every Wednesday at 7.15a.m. One day you spoke explaining how Christ had overturned all our curses, quoting the Bible verse, "Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree" (Galatians 3:13). After listening to you, I understood that Christ has truly banished my curse on the Cross and I become very happy. From that day, I fully believe that I am not a cursed person and that the Lord who took over my curse is still alive; and that there are no more curses in this world as He is alive. 'He has borne our grieves and carried our sorrows, bore our iniquities' (Isaiah 53). He has set us free from the power of darkness and from sin. "But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life"(Romans 6:22). "The creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God" (Romans 8:21). "Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed"(John 8:36). Relying on these verses I conquered, in Christ, all curses. I am going to live only for His sake."
How horribly cruel it is for a mother, who has born the daughter in her womb for ten months, to keep on lashing her (daughter) with horrid words. "Can a woman forget her nursing child, and not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely they may forget, Yet I will not forget you. See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands; Your walls are continually before Me." (Isaiah 49:15,16).
Friend, are we not wailing: "Alas, why did this happen to me? I am seeking the Lord truly, devotedly and with fasting. Why should this happen in my home? Why did the Lord forget me?" These questions puzzle us and crush us. But the Lord who never forgets His child and who has inscribed you on the palms of His hands is near you. He will console your broken heart and inspire you to be joyous.
Prayer:
Loving Heavenly Father,
Due to many trials and tribulations, my heart is shattered to pieces. I am very easily deserted by all. There is no one who can comfort and console me. But, You are my Fortress and my Shield. I thank You from the bottom of my heart for helping me to realize that You will not desert me. I praise You for keeping me on the palm of Your hands. Thank You Lord for watching over me. I am not going to be worried anymore because You are always close to me. Guide and protect me. In Jesus' matchless name, I pray.
Amen. |
