Fragrance of God's KnowledgeSpeaker: Sis. Stella Dhinakaran Gist: Will you devote yourself to diffuse the fragrance of knowledge about the love of God, which has been poured out in your hearts by the Holy Spirit? He will give you His abiding love even amidst all tribulations. Once a sin-tormented woman, coming to know that Jesus was dining at a Pharisee's house took an alabaster flask of fragrant oil, went in, and stood behind Him; weeping; she began to wash His feet with her tears and wiped them with the hair of her head; and she kissed His feet and anointed them with the fragrant oil (Luke7: 38). The host Pharisee wondered within himself if Jesus would, as a prophet discovers the fact that she was a sinner. But the Lord, understanding the boundless love, that woman had for Him told her, "Your sins are forgiven, your faith has saved you. Go in peace" (Luke 7:47-50).
Will you also pray, 'O, Lord, I am merely lukewarm, neither cold nor hot; I am one who does not seek You; I am a sinner; transform my life." The Lord will tell you, as He said to the sinful woman, "Your sins are forgiven you because of your faith." He will change your life, then divine love will flood through you and your home towards others; even people who are unaware of our Lord will come to know of His love and His blessings; they will inherit heaven. The fragrance of salvation will be diffused from your life.
"Arise, shine; for your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you" (Isaiah 60:1). You will shine, in tune with this 'word'.
I was, when young, of a shy and docile temperament. But I loved God faithfully and honestly. For His sake I was prepared to bear any burden in my life. At the same time, when any proposition to do the ministry was thought of, I kept quiet thinking that it was totally impossible for me. But God willed that I should be utilised in His ministry. In the early phase, my husband would proceed to work and I would be praying at home. Before his return from the office, some one or another would visit our house to meet him. They would sometimes asked me to pray for them. On one occasion, a gentleman who had come to see my husband positively said, 'Today you must pray.' When I entreated him, 'Wait a little while; my husband will come soon', He insisted, "Please find out what the Lord says about me yourself and tell me what He says'. He also started telling me his distresses. So I prayed, first, within my mind, "Lord, You who is within me is perfect and can speak out. You reflect Your love upon all and know the agony in the man's mind. So please rid him of his problem, speak to him and send him back with bubbling joy." Then, guided by God, I prayed for him with tears, filled with divine love. Then he said, 'Sister, this is the counsel I needed; now I don't have any more anxiety. I fully trust that God will not forsake me.' Having witnessed a miracle done to our Lord, I praised Him. The same Jesus will make the fountain of love, flood through you too. The love of Christ will constrain you to do something for the Lord (2 Corinthians 5:14).
Dear friend, we are living in the last days of the world. Will you devote yourself to diffuse the fragrance of knowledge about Him and the love of God, which has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit (Romans 5:5), to people who are broken-hearted? He will give you a new heart and his abiding love in the face of all circumstances and tribulations. He will cause the River of life to spring forth from you towards the broken hearted people who miss the love their spouse, or kith and kin, making them experience Divine Love. He will reveal the fragrance of His knowledge. He will bring out victory in Christ. He will honour you.
Prayer:
Loving Heavenly Father,
You are the Lord filled with love and compassion. You are the merciful God who forgives every sinner. Lord, I am a mere lukewarm, neither cold nor hot. I am the lost sheep who does not seek You. Transform my life. Change me into a chosen vessel which will reveal the divine fragrance of Your knowledge. Make me an instrument through which the River of life springs forth. In Jesus' matchless name, I pray.
Amen. |
