Stella Dhinakaran Gist: Come forward to do God's will always, identifying yourself constantly with God, surrender yourself to God in the matter of obeying God's will, like David. Then God will abide with you and your family. At the outset, the first and foremost characteristic of David's life was his prayer-habit.
David was a king with so many responsibilities; still, in the midst of his preoccupations, he always was with God. He sought God early in the morning and at noon', he prayed and cried aloud to God (Psalm 55:17) He remembered Him on his bed and he meditated on Him in the night watches' (Psalm 63:6). Constantly, his thoughts dwelt only on God.
The family that lives with their thoughts always rested upon God will be a blessed one. Do not entertain any doubt as to how you can pray the whole day or how to fast and pray. As much as you pray, seeking God and keeping Him always in your focus, that much you will be a blessed. To keep on receiving His blessings, pray as David did, "O Lord, abide with me ever; as You and Your Father are one, I should be one with You."
David was a man who sought God always. But just one occasion, Satan attracted his eyes-while he was walking on the roof of the King's house-towards sin. (2 Samuel 11:2). As a consequence, how many deaths! How much agony and tears! Like a roaring lion, the devil did his task (1 Peter 5:8)
My dear friend, do not miss your prayer schedule. Help your life partner, your children and your friends to seek the Lord individually.
"David did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, and had not turned aside from anything that He commanded him all the days of his life, except in the matter of Uriah the Hittite." (1 King 15:5)
Except for this one sinful error, David walked in God's ways and obeyed God's will. You should come forwards to do God's will always, identifying yourself constantly with God. Surrender yourself to God in the matter of obeying God's will, like David. Then God will abide with you and your family.
Prayer:
Loving Heavenly Father,
I confess that many a time, looking at the hard situations of life, I go down in my spirit and fail to seek You. But I too want to seek Your face all through the day and night like David. Help me to seek You always. Let me not fall a prey to the lust of eyes. Protect me from committing sins. In Jesus' name I pray.
