Holy Spirit - The Revealer of Your Future

Speaker: Dr. Paul Dhinakaran

Gist: The Holy Spirit wonderfully foretells the events to come. On hearing what He says, a fresh faith darts into us and we begin to praise the Lord. The Holy Spirit helps us to offer the sacrifice of praise, even at times of danger. No harm can over take us.

When we encounter adversities the Holy Sprit comes and tells us about 'things to come' (John 16:13), and shows us our future. He informs us what all things are to take place, through our dreams or through 'prophecy' or, the Holy Spirit reveals the future through visions. As a consequence, we become elated and start praising God. We confess to Him, "Lord, You have kept so many blessings, miracles and glorious things for me. I praise You." The Lord who dwells amidst praises comes down. Miracles happen.

Many years ago, there was a Bishop who was doing the Lord's ministry exceedingly well. One day a disease gripped him, suddenly. Doctors after examining him diagnosed it, as Cancer had no remedy at all. Puzzled, the Bishop asked his people to fetch Brother Dhinakaran immediately saying that the Brother would guide him. It was the time when my father was working in the Bank. Informed of the Bishop's situation, my father rushed to the Hospital, knelt down near the Bishop's bed and interceded with the Lord for a long time. The Lord came down and said to my father, "This is not Cancer, but only an Ulcer." My father reported this to the Bishop and came away. The Bishop asked his wife to pack up everything and get ready to go home. The doctors protested, but yet the Bishop was firm and reiterated that Brother Dhinakaran had told him positively'. He went home. Next day, when he was at his chapel, reading the Bible, God talked to him through a Word. As he was reading the parable of the workers in the vineyard, the verse, 'you also go into the vineyard (and work)' (Matthew 20:7) shocked him. The Bishop, interpreting it properly said, 'God is talking to me; He says that I should re-start my ministry." Donning the Bishop's robe, he set to work. Cancer did not touch him at all. In a few days, when he went to Germany, the doctors examined him and said it was merely an ulcer.

This is how the Holy Spirit, wonderfully foretells the events to come. On hearing what He says, a fresh faith darts into us, unawares; we begin to praise the Lord. This is the basic reason for the progress of the 'Jesus Calls' Ministry. As the Holy Spirit speaks to His prophet face to face, we praise God and enter into new ventures with firm faith. Each dangerous situation comes upon us only with a threat of plucking away our lives. But in every incident of jeopardy (danger), on account of our ministry, the Holy Spirit comes down. Especially, when we have our family prayer, He comes down. He speaks to us for half an hour. He will say positively, 'Do not be worried about anything. This is what will happen.' He would not talk about any problem. Professing that all the problems are under His feet, He will only be unfolding new projects. We will be at that time, shivering in disease, tears and distress. But He will be talking for half and hour about new schemes in His ministry. Unknowingly, we will be praising the Lord. And as He foretold, the problems will be dissolved.

My dear friend, our Lord shows us what is going to come. So, though we go through the path of tears, anxiety and tribulation, we have a hope. The Holy Spirit helps us to offer the sacrifice of praise, even at times of danger. We will never fall. To offer the sacrifice of praise, even at times of danger. We will never fall. To offer the sacrifice of praise at times of trouble, the Holy Spirit has been given to us. No harm can over take us. If danger comes, can blessing be far behind? To perceive the blessing that follows the critical situation, He has gifted His Holy Spirit to us.

Prayer:

Loving Heavenly Father,

I thank You for giving me the Comforter who foretells all the events that is to come in my life. Help me to listen to the voice of the Comforter keenly and do according to His words. Strengthen me that I may never be discouraged and fall during the times of trials and tribulations. Teach me to lift up the sacrifice of thanksgiving even in times of perils. In Jesus' mighty name, I pray.

Amen.
