When the Holy Spirit comes into you, He will give you liberty and will guide you and shield you from all harm. "..in whom (God) you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit." (Ephesians 2:22)
Friend, how many of us claim that we want our homes to be turned into holy temples, in which our gracious Lord is a perennial resident? Seek Him with the zeal of David. If you and your family seek Him earnestly, your home will be transformed into a holy place by God.
"I was glad when they said to me, "Let us go into the house of the Lord." (Psalm 122:1)
Echoing David, you too, as a family go to the House of Lord. How pleasurable and sweet is the experience of seeking the Lord with oneness of mind and spirit.
"Blessed is the man You choose, and cause to approach You, that he may dwell in Your courts. We shall be satisfied with the goodness of Your house, of Your holy temple." (Psalm 65:4)
Let us, for a moment pause and think about how the Almighty Lord changes our home into His holy temple. The apostle Paul asserts, "...you are the temple of the living God" (2 Corinthians 6:16). Again he asks, "Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?...For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are." (1 Corinthians 3:16,17)
Friend, You should not be satisfied being a holy one. Pray with tears for the salvation of your spouse and your children also. God will transform your household into His temple and the presence of the Holy Spirit will abide in your home permanently.
"But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him." (1 John 2:27)
You all know how we were vexed and confused when we lost our darling daughter on May 21, 1986. I was so overcome by the severe loss that I began to wonder, "How can I preach that God is good, after having sustained this heart-breaking loss?" Even amidst that calamity, our compassionate God comforted me through the Holy Spirit. His presence gave me succour, within a few months to continue His ministry. He removed all my worldly anxieties, gave me the joy and peace which the world cannot give. He enabled me to rise up again, to preach and execute His exalted ministry.
Dear friend, you must receive the Holy Spirit and His fullness. Then your home will become His temple. You will become green olive plants blooming in God's garden. When the Holy Spirit comes into you, He will give you liberty (2 Corinthians 3:17). No weapon that is formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). He is ever present with you to guide you and shield you from all harm.
After being crowned with the Holy Spirit, your goal should be to receive the gifts, the fruits of the Holy Spirit and the power of the Spirit to arise and shine for the Lord. Then He will find your family as a great comforter of many other families. He will be proud of your families saying, "How sweet is this family which has become My temple." How sweet it is to live as a righteous family, to receive the Holy Spirit, to minister to the Lord as a family, to comfort others as a family and to turn the whole household into the Holy house of God.
Friend, will you come forward today to commit your whole family to the Almighty God? He will strip away all the old negative forces in your family and transform your home into an abode of righteous people. Filling you all with the Holy Spirit, He will give strength to your family to be of great comfort to others. He will walk with you, bless you and grant His grace to arise and shine as a family.
Prayer:
Gracious Heavenly Father,
You are the God of power and mighty. You are my shield and fortress. Fill me with Your mighty Holy Spirit. Remove all the unwanted habits from my life and make me a new person. Change my household into Your holy temple. Help me to remember that I am the temple of the Holy Spirit. Help me to be pure in my thoughts, words and deeds that I may be worthy of being the temple of Your spirit. I make this prayer through the matchless name of Jesus Christ, my Lord.
