Life To OthersSpeaker: Dr. Paul Dhinakaran Gist: Many people languish in spirit and poverty without knowing the Lord. The Lord Jesus came to this world to give His life for them. He has poured out His life in you. He will change you to give life to the people who languish in spirit and poverty. Zacchaeus had become a rich man, collecting tax. He had no desire to give money to others. But after receiving from Jesus' life in his soul, there came a sea-change in him. He told the Lord; "Look, Lord, I give half of my goods to the poor; and if I have taken anything from anyone by false accusation, I restore fourfold."(Luke 19:8)
There was a man of God, who possessed intensely deep experiences of the Spirit. One day he visited a hospital to see a relative of his, who had been admitted there. He had to stay there for the night. When he was sleeping, all on a sudden, he had a supernatural experience. The Spirits of people who had died that day surrounded him; after recounting their names and other particulars regarding them, they whimpered, Sir, in this hospital they function only in the name of Jesus; they strove hard to save us” But they failed to tell us about Jesus: They, who laboured, filled with the love of Jesus. did not talk to us about the way to heaven, patterned by Jesus; had theyy informed us of the way we would have been in Heaven.
Likewise, millions of people languish in the poverty of the spirit, ignorant of Lord Jesus, though they have wealth and social status! Jesus came down into this world, only to give His life to these people! He places that life un Us He transforms us into ones who give it to those people, wanting in Spirit.
By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for our brethren (1 John 3:16).
Laying down one's life means that we should be prepared to sacrifice our lives for the sake of others.
St. Paul says that “ For the love of Christ constrains us... (2 Corinthians 5:14).
When Jesus saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them; he taught them and turned their attention towards Him (Mathew 9:36)...He healed the sick, moved with compassion (Mathew 14:14). He took pity on the people who had nothing to eat (Mathew 15:32). He multiplied a few loaves and bread to feed the people. He touched a man who had an impediment in his speech and made him to speak (Mark 7:34).The same Jesus, full of love, commissioned His disciples; “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature...in My name. cast out demons ...heal the sick (Mark 9:1,2;Mark 16:17).
Resurrecting Life should go out form every servant of God towards other people. That life full of love brings forth miracles for the benefit of others. God places that life in Us. When we pray for others with compassion, and with the life implanted in God within us, miracles happen! Have we lost the Spirit, which puts that life within us? Because we have lost it, have we become a slave to the greed for money and status? Let us examine ourselves (1 Tim 4:8)., Today, the Lord wants to utilize you by sending His spirit of love into you again.
Prayer:
Gracious Heavenly Father,
Fill me with Your double portion of anointing. Grant me Your resurrecting life. Help me to move with others with love and compassion. Make me an instrument to bring Your life into others. Use me for Your glory. I make this humble prayer through the life-giving name of Christ Jesus, my King.
