No more Loneliness

Speaker: Dr. Paul Dhinakaran

Gist: Dear friend, have you been isolated because of your disease? Be not dismayed. Lord Jesus will put His compassion on you. Showing His concern for you. He will hug and kiss you proving that you are not alone. He will heal you with His stripes.

Disease is also responsible for thrusting loneliness on us. Turn to John 5:1-6. There we see a multitude of sick people lying down near the pool of Bethesda. But the eyes of Jesus who visited the scene, were focused on a particular disabled man. In an instant, Jesus understood that the man had been lying there for 38 years. He was also aware of all the details of his life and about his sickness. He asked the man bluntly, "Do you want to be made well?" The sick man, without mentioning anything about his disease, wept and said that he had no one in the world to help him and that the disease had isolated him from his kith and kin. "Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred (by the angel)" (Matthew 5:7). The compassion of Jesus was stirred up. Looking at the helpless, solitary man who had been waiting for his turn to get into the pool for 38 long years. Jesus commanded 'Rise, take up your bed and walk". That is the compassionate heart of Jesus. More than your desire to be cured of your weakness and your debility, Jesus lovingly desires that He should heal you. He is your Heavenly Father. With exceedingly love He asks you, "My dear child, do you want to be made well?" If you answer, "Yes, I want to be cured of my tormenting disease", He will immediately touch you and heal you.

Dear friend, have you been isolated because of your disease? Be not dismayed. Jesus will put His compassion on you. Showing His concern for you. He will hug and kiss you proving that you are not alone. He will heal you with His stripes. When you are worried by your loneliness, consider His loneliness.

"Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head" (Luke 9:58). He rested in mountains and wilderness. The whole day, He would do His Father's ministry and comfort the people, exhorting them, "Do not worry about tomorrow". Then, He would pray loudly and with tears the whole of the night. He was alone. He was aware of the impending day when He would be held guilty for the guilt of the whole world. He alone was aware of His Cross and of the torturous death.

At Gethsemane, His three disciples who accompanied Him did not, in fact, give Him company in prayer. They slept off. He was alone, in agony, praying earnestly. "His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground" (Luke 22:44). Earlier, He had faced the devil, alone, being tempted by him (Luke 4:1-13). He was horribly alone. No one was there to help Him. When He was hanging on the Cross, utter darkness surrounded Him. Alone, He wailed, "My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?" (Mark 15:34)

Perhaps at the present moment, you may be shedding tears and complaining, "I am alone. I do not have a house or a family. I am traversing alone, along the path of the darkness of death. I am in the clutches of the devil. I have been suffering alone from disease. " Dear friend, Jesus is fully aware of your agony. He has crossed that path. There is no need for you to suffer loneliness brought by death or Satan or disease. Our graceful Lord Jesus desires to stay with you and build up your life. Will you accept Him in your heart? He will build for you a home and a family. He will liberate you from loneliness and enable you live happily and peacefully.

Prayer:

Loving Heavenly Father,

You are the compassionate God. You are the loving God who has the mighty healing power. Father, I am undergoing a hard way of loneliness caused by disease. Graciously heal me. I believe that I will be completely healed by Your stripes. Grant me total deliverance from all loneliness. Help me to be a good witness for the glory of Your mighty name. In Jesus' wonder-working name, I pray.

Amen.
