Salvation Is Of The LordSpeaker: Dr. Paul Dhinakaran Gist: Our Lord Jesus who called Zacchaeus by name, forgave his sins and gave him salvation, is quite eager to grant you salvation. When He enters in your heart, joy and peace, which the world cannot give, will fill you. Once when Lord Jesus was passing through Jericho, He realised in Spirit that a short statured man, Zacchaeus, was hiding himself on a Sycamore tree to see Him. When He came up to Sycamore tree, He stopped, looked up and called out to him, "Zacchaeus, make haste and come down, for today I must stay at your house" (Luke 19:5). He hastily came down and receiving Jesus happily, took Him to his house. When people saw this they murmured, saying, "He has gone to be a guest with a man who is a sinner" (Luke 19:7). Nevertheless He visited the house of Zacchaeus and told him, "Today salvation has come to this house, for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost" (Luke 19:10).
Many years ago, a young trader, fired by greed, laboured hard to amass wealth. But he encountered only losses in his enterprise. As a result, his wife deserted him; his children, too, left him. Grilled by worries, he was afflicted with disease. Unbearable agony. Doctors opined that his was a fatal disease. He was lying on his bed of despair in the hospital, one morning, when a sweet song wafted over the air and reached his ears, to his pleasant surprise. With great difficulty, he sauntered slowly in the direction of where it came from. There, the morning service was on, in a church, the hymn; "God will take care of you" was being sung gleefully. The impact of the hymn on him was so tremendous that he began to cry out in prayer: "O Lord, I surrender my life in Your hands; though I known You, I was backslidden with wrong goals of accumulating wealth and savouring the lusts of the world; now, I have lost everything." Our Lord, hearing his repentant lament, granted him the joy of salvation, as He has done to Zacchaeus. A profound joy and peace filled his heart. In no time, his body was healed. He began his commercial enterprise again. God blessed his labour. Today he is flourishing as a multi-millionaire.
Presently your mind may be accusing yourself as a sinner; or your family, kith and kin may blame you so. But our Lord Jesus who called Zacchaeus by name, forgave his sins and gave him salvation, is quite eager to knock at our heart's door, enter in and grant us salvation.
"Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me." (Revelation 3:20)
In accordance with this word, God the trinity, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit 'will come to him and make our (their) home with him; if anyone throws the open door of his heart. When He resides in our heart, joy and peace, which the world cannot give, fills us. God grants us double the joy of salvation which we have lost and blesses us.
Prayer:
Loving Heavenly Father,
I firmly believe that You are one God in three divine Persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. I believe that Your divine Son became man and died for our sins, and that He will come to judge the living and the dead. I want You to fill me with Your divine peace and joy which the world cannot give. Grant me the double joy of salvation and let it not leave me in any part of my life. I praise You for being so mighty and powerful and for blessing me. In Jesus' mighty name I make this prayer.
