Seek Him First And Be Blessed

Speaker: Sis. Stella Dhinakaran

Gist: Wait on the Lord will receive new strength. You will mount up with wings like eagles. Even if you have any disease in you, you will fly up like eagles and glorify God. The more intensely you seek Him, the more quickly you will get your reward.

"There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of what was called the Italian Regiment, a devout man and one who feared God with all his household, who gave alms generously to the people, and prayed to God always." (Acts 10:1,2)

When we had been to the U.S.A., a young boy of 14 approached Brother Dhinakaran and posed this question: "Uncle, how were you able to see God?" Brother answered him: "Son, you will find Him if you seek Him truly.' The boy began to seek God, rising up early in the morning and praying to Him. Next time when we met him, he met us happily and told Brother Dhinakaran, "Uncle, I am seeking the Lord every day from early morning, as you said, I am continuing to pray that I should come still nearer to Him and I should be blessed enough to see God."

"Those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint." (Isaiah 40:31)

According to this verse, you who wait on the Lord will receive new strength. You will mount up with wings like eagles. Even if you have any disease in you, you will fly up like eagles and glorify God. The more intensely you seek Him, the more quickly you will get your reward.

In the Holy Bible we read about a Centurion named Cornelius who sought God with his whole family; he had fear of God in him. He was a devout man. He was a man of prayer. He would have prayed, "Make me, O Lord, holier, unite me with You." That is why God sent Peter to his house and enable him to listen to His words through Peter. Even as Peter was preaching to his household, 'the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who heard the word'.

Who is this Holy Spirit? As we read in 2 Corinthians 3:17, "Now the Lord is the Spirit." The Holy Spirit is the Comforter who will comfort you, when you traverse through tears and distress (John 14:26). He will 'teach you concerning all things' (1 John 2:27). When He abides in you, 'you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, receiving the end of your faith - the salvation of your souls' (1Peter 1:8).

Of all the tribulations I have encountered in my life, the most agonizing one was the tragic loss of my beloved daughter. But God raised me up again in a very few days to do His ministry. Many people asked me, "It might be feasible for Brother Dhinakaran or Dr. Paul Dhinakaran to preach despite the tragedy. But how can you, who bore her in your womb for ten months, do the Lord's ministry so soon?"

Dear friend, the One who comforted me and continues to strengthen me in the Lord's ministry is the Holy Spirit. On one side grief would choke my throat while about to preach; but on the other, the God of all comfort would embrace me. How abundantly has He exalted me in His ministry during the last 14 years. He will uplift you also. He will fill you with all comfort.

"For I will pour water on him who is thirsty, and floods on the dry ground; I will pour My Spirit on your descendants, and My blessing on your offspring" (Isaiah 44:3)

"God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him" (Acts 10:38). Just as God anointed Jesus with His Holy Spirit and power... as He blessed Cornelius and his family with the Holy Spirit... as He honoured His covenant with Abraham and blessed him... as He raised up Lazarus to life and blessed his poor family... as He comforted me who had last my precious daughter and utilised me as a vessel for His ministry, He is eagerly waiting to fill you with the Holy Spirit, comfort you and bless you. His will is to give good things to those who seek Him wholeheartedly. If you do good to others, He will do greater good to you. He will fulfill all your needs. In the moment of your agony, He will come seeking you and help you. He will make you rejoice. You who seek Him are blessed.

Prayer:

God all comforts,

I plead You to fill me with Your Holy Spirit. Dear Comforter, please come and comfort me. Take away all the troubles and worldly cares that disturb my piece. Grant me Your divine peace in my heart. Help me to do good to all those who come in my life. I also praise You for being so good to me in my life. I thank You for taking away all the agonies from my heart. In the mighty name of Jesus I pray.

Amen.
