Delivering Power of GodSpeaker: Dr. D.G.S. Dhinakaran Gist: Lord Jesus who bore your afflictions on the Cross, will grant you His peace. He will put an end to all your sorrows and the devil's potency, which encounter you in your life. He will grant you His grace to flourish in your life. When Jesus was walking upon the earth, He went into the country of the Gadarenes. There a man with an unclean spirit was dwelling among the tombs, no one could blind him, not even with chains. Though he had been often bound with chains and shackles, he would break them in pieces and shatter them; no one could tame him. And always, night and day, he was in the mountains and in the tombs, crying out and cutting himself with stones' (Mark 5:3-5).
Jesus asked him, 'What is your name?" and drove away the many demons, dwelling within him and gave him a new life.
A few years ago, some people from Sambalpur in NorthIndia, came to Chennai seeking me. Their tragic story was this: Somebody, inimical to their family had taunted and played havoc with the family. Everyday, exactly at 6 p.m., four dark figures would enter the house and smash all the vessels. Agonised, they reported the matter to the police. They also tried to counter the witchcraft by magical sorcery, but no one could liberate them from the grip of the demons that were at their smashing game, one small boy in that family boldly asked them, "Why are you torturing us? What should we do to drive you away from our place?" One of the demons replied, "There is a servant of God called Dhinakaran in Chennai, if he commands us to go away, we would leave. Until then we would not obey any one." They came to Madras to meet me.
When I listened to their pathetic tale, my heart was moved. I consoled them and sent them back home after earnestly praying, "O, Lord, have pity this once; help these poor people. I curse the demons, which are hundreds of miles away, according to the authority You have given me."
When the demons paid their visitation next time at 6 p.m. they told the inmates, "The servant of God, Brother Dhinakaran has ordered us to go. We cannot be here anymore, we are quitting."
They left abruptly. The family's joy knew no bounds. Later, when we went to Cuttack in Orissa to conduct 'Jesus Calls' Good News Meetings, the family members joyfully shared their witness with thousand of people who had assembled there. The name of Jesus was glorified.
Yes my friend, the devils will fear and surrender at the name of Jesus. 'When the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him' (Isaiah 59:19).
"The Lord is the Spirit and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty" (2 Corinthians 3:17). That is why God is eagerly waiting to give you His Holy Spirit. When you receive the fullness of the Holy Spirit, He shields you, making the evil spirits impotent to overcome you.
My dear friend, look steadfastly at the Victor of the Cross, Jesus Christ. Jesus who bore all our afflictions and who was bruised for our sake on the Cross of Calvary will send true peace into your hearts. He will put an end to all reproaches, sorrows of the heart and the devil's potency, which encounter you in your life. He will grant you His grace to flourish in your life in all ways.

Loving Heavenly Father,
I thank You from the bottom of my heart because You have desired that my family and I should be saved and walk in Your righteous path. I also thank You for giving me the right to call You 'Abba, Father'. Help us to lead a life pleasing in Your sight and to set a good example for others. We accept You as our beloved Father and our personal Saviour. In Jesus' marvellous name, I pray.
