Grace To The Humble

Speaker: Dr. D.G.S. Dhinakaran

Gist: The Lord of grace will make His face shine on us and will grant His grace to the wicked through us. He will devise ways through which people unaware of Christ will receive Christ's salvation.

In 1 Kings 3:6 of another version of the Bible, we find the term "steadfast love".

Just as David, the Psalmist who received many kinds of Grace, humbled himself and confessed, "He (God) has done this", (Psalm 22:31) confess that every miracle done through our prayers, is in effect the deed of the Lord of the Cross, Jesus Christ. Our gracious Lord Himself has commanded us,

"When you have done all those things which you are commanded, say, 'We are unprofitable servants. We have done what was our duty to do.'" (Luke 17:10)

At present, whatever corner of the world we visit, important leaders and senior officials welcome us very warmly and honour us. The simple reason is that the Lord of Grace, Jesus is with us. How stupendously great is our Lord! Before Him, we are only commonplace people. The more we humble ourselves before Him, the more abundant grace, greater grace, will be granted us by Him. He will honour us.

"And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace." (John 1:16)

God, the Creator of every thing, submitted His Son, Jesus the author of salvation, to death on the Cross, and perfected Him through His sufferings in order to bring many people to glory (Hebrews 2:10). We are receiving 'grace for grace' only because of His perfection.

My dear friend, let us look up at the Lord of the Cross and beg Him in all our humility saying, "Lord, I have been granted 'Grace' because of the sufferings You endured on the Cross. I will never, forget the agony You experienced, for me, on the Cross. I will never feel ashamed to speak of (preach) the message of the Cross and Your sufferings on the Cross. Kindly satisfy me with Your 'Grace' everyday. Then the Lord of grace will make His face shine on us and will grant His grace to the wicked through us. He will devise ways through which people unaware of Christ will receive Christ's salvation. He will make many people see signs and wonders through the graceful words that come out of our mouth. He will put many to His side through the grace magnified by our praises from our hearts. He will give us, daily, grace on grace and make us shine for Him.

Prayer:

Most gracious Heavenly Father,

I adore You for being so gracious in my life thus far. I thank You for giving me the greatest gift of all gifts that is my 'salvation' from my sinful life. Even now I fondly remember how I have been granted 'Grace' because of the sufferings You endured on the Cross. I will never, forget the agony You experienced, for me, on the Cross. I will never feel ashamed to speak of (preach) the message of the Cross and Your sufferings on the Cross. Kindly satisfy me with Your 'Grace' everyday. In Jesus' mighty name I pray.

Amen.
