The Right To Become Children Of GodSpeaker: Sis. Stella Dhinakaran Gist: Call upon the Lord, 'Abba, father and speak to Him intimately. You are somebody special, in His precious sight. From today and from now on, accept Him as your father and Saviour. He will grant you the right and privilege to become His children. When we pray, "Lord come into me. Forgive all my sins and make me a new being'. He protects us, cleanses us with His blood, gifts us the blessed experience of Salvation, records our name in the 'Book of Life" and crowns us with the authority and right of becoming His children. More than this, we 'receive the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, "Abba Father" (Romans 8:15).
A widowed lady enjoyed of wealth, health and social status in plenty. She was able to conduct her daughter's marriage in great pomp. One day, when she participated in a massively organized tea-party, she shared the dinning table with a couple engaged in God's ministry. The servant of God, after chatting with the lady for sometime said, "Shall we pray", then he prayed, "Abba, Father, we thank You because You are with us", taking the privilege of calling God, Father. The lady was greatly surprised by the use of the closely-knit, endearing term "Abba" for God and asked the servant of God, after prayer, "Sir, you called God "Abba! What a great person God is! Can we dare to call Him so, in such a friendly manner? The Minister of God replied, "Sister, our God is full of love and compassion. He is waiting for people to accept Him as their beloved Father. When we acknowledge Him in our mind and call Him 'Abba, Father', He quite joyously becomes our Father. When you call Him so, you will be immensely exhilarated." That lady, after she returned home spoke to God and prayed in her loneliness, "Abba...Abba...Father...I am quite alone in my house. I have no companion to comfort me. My daughter is far away. I extol You as You are with me." Her mind was filled with a serene delight. In this way, she clung to the Lord very closely and intimately.
"The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth." (Psalm 145:18)
"As many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name." (John 1:12)
Dear friend, call upon our Lord, 'Abba...Abba...Father...and speak to Him intimately. You are not orphans. You are somebody special, in His precious sight. From today and from now on, accept Him - as a household - as your father and Saviour. He will grant you the right and privilege to become His children.
Prayer:
Loving Father,
I praise and thank You from the bottom of my heart because You are there for me always. I thank You for giving me the great privilege to call You 'Abba, Father' and granting me the right to become Your beloved child. Lord, I accept You wholeheartedly as my Father and my Saviour Lord. Thank You for making me precious in Your sight. In Jesus' matchless name, I pray.
