Divine KnowledgeSpeaker: Sis. Stella Dhinakaran Gist: All things that we see in this world are not permanent. Only till we are alive, our knowledge and wisdom are appreciated. But the knowledge that the Lord gives us is true and permanent, bringing us closer to God. When we are filled with God's divine presence, He fills us with His divine knowledge and wisdom. A new born child does not remain the same forever. Within a few months it begins to crawl and gradually the baby is able to sit, then takes a few stumbling steps, walks steadily and finally runs. So also, the Lord Jesus makes us grow step by step in our daily life. No doubt, the devil will hurt us on our way. Trials and temptations will enter into our lives in proportion to our growth in Him (Ephesians 6:11,12). But we need not be scared by them as long as the Lord is with us.
"In Jesus are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge." (Colossians 2:3) "And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent." (John 17:3)
Accordingly, the knowledge of the Almighty God will give us divine strength to overcome all temptations and His divine grace will deliver us from all evil. Let us not fear, but be filled with divine wisdom, show calm and restraint amidst all hustle and bustle (1 Peter 3:4). The divine wisdom is greatly needed while ministering before God. It will immensely benefit all who are suitably serving God.
I used to recollect very often about a certain incident that happened in my life many years ago. It was in the early stage of our ministry. Apart from being an employee in the State Bank Of India, my husband was also involved in the Lord's ministry. In the evenings many people used to come seeking his counsel and special prayers, to enrich their spiritual lives. There used to be a stream of visitors. There was no one at home to help me. One day, I was very tired and depressed and told my husband, "I cannot cope up with this work all alone. Do something to relieve me to some extent." But he said, "This ministry is God-given. So, instead of telling me, you ask God what you want," and he continued his work. I was helpless and lonely. I knelt at the feet of God, who is our shelter. The Holy Spirit filled me with divine wisdom and made me conscious of my failures. I prayed with tears, "Lord, I do not have sufficient strength that I need in my body. I am not able to fulfill the part you have given me in the ministry properly." The Lord accepted my prayer and granted me new strength and spirit, and I never again felt weary or depressed. He also sent beloved brothers and sisters to assist us in the ministry and exalted me in the service.
Dear friend, our weaknesses very often are an obstacle in our lives. But when the knowledge and wisdom of God fills us, all weaknesses will be swept away.
"And the Lord will make you the head and not the tail; you shall be above only, and not be beneath, if you heed the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you today, and are careful to observe them." (Deuteronomy 28:13) "But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away." (1 Corinthians 13:10)
We can overcome our weaknesses, trials and tribulations with God's help and derive God's blessings even amidst them. Let us forget all our problems for a while and examine ourselves in the Lord's presence, whether our ways are righteous as the devout men and women in the Bible. Dear friend, examine and see if the Lord Jesus resides in your heart and home. The Lord will then grant you all the blessings He has in store for His beloved children. You will cheer up. He will take upon Himself all your concerns (Psalm 138:8). He will make your household to prosper. The Lord Himself will lead you towards the exalted blessings. He will graciously make your household stand fast and secure.
Prayer:
Loving Heavenly Father,
I lack knowledge and wisdom. Fill me with Your divine knowledge, wisdom and perfect strength. When I have to face problems, help me not to lose faith, hope or the trust I have in You. Grant me Your grace to overcome all trials, temptations and tribulations in my life. Remove all my fears, pains and sorrows completely and help me to lead a joyful life. In Jesus' mighty name, I pray.
Amen. |
