Be Faithful

Speaker: Dr. Paul Dhinakaran

Gist: You may be just ordinary folk or men of great learning. He calls you to His ministry. He will redeem you. He will bless you and multiply your race.

Jesus was faithful in fulfilling whatever His Father told Him to do. "Christ Jesus was faithful to Him who appointed Him." (Hebrews 3:2)

Today we see so many ministries come to a stand still. It is because of their lack of obedience towards Christ's calling. They have not been true to His salvation and the anointing they received. They are not honest to God and His ministry, because they speak and do things not to His liking, they decline and disappear.

George Whitefield was a devout servant of the Lord. From morning till night, he would preach in street corners, churches and auditoriums. Fully exhausted, he would come home late night. Even then if someone knocked at the door, he would open the door with a lighted candle in hand, he would comfort the person using the Word of God and pray for his needs. Early in the morning he would pray on his knees saying, "Lord! Speak to me. Anoint me with Your Holy Spirit. Grant me the grace I need today and show me what I should do." He was so faithful in God's ministry and so the Lord used him mightily in His services.

Dear friend, seek the Lord's power. Wait upon Him every day for His anointing and be filled with His power. "Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints" (Ephesians 6:18). When you seek the Lord and wait upon Him, He will pour out His Holy Spirt on you as said in Acts 2:17, "I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions." (Joel 2:28)

Charles Finny was a great man of God whose very look at people was enough to stir their sense of sin. He was so much filled with the power of God. Even if there was a little weakening of the power of the Holy Spirit in his ministry, he would go to the wilderness and cry out, "Lord, anoint me with Your Holy Spirit just once. Grant me Your power." God would then fill him with His Holy Spirit. Richly endowed with His power, Finny would go and resume his ministry with amazing results. Like Him, be filled with the Holy Spirit always. Never forget that you can do God's ministry effectively only when His power is in you!

Dear friend, are you prepared now to do the Lord's ministry? You may be unrepentant sinner of God's beloved children; you may be quite ignorant of God or be hell bent on wrecking His ministry; you may be just ordinary folk or men of great learning. Whatever you are, He calls you to His ministry. Commit yourselves just as you are in His hands. He will redeem you. He will adorn you with His divine joy, peace, meekness and long-suffering. He will bless you and multiply your race.

If the Lord calls you to any particular ministry, obey His call implicitly. Be careful to know His call precisely. Be faithful to Him and His ministry. Commit yourselves to fulfill His will. Wait at His feet and be, ever filled with the Holy Spirit. The Lord will then use you mightily. He will perform signs and miracles through you. He will exalt you. May Jesus, the Son of God, Himself use you mightily in His ministry.

Prayer:

Gracious Loving Father,

Help me to do Your ministry by equipping me with Your Holy Spirit. Enable me to become Your servant and carry Your message of salvation and of Your indescribable love to this hurting world. Make me a living testimony to Your name. Use me mightily for Your glory. I make this humble prayer in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Amen.
