Heal Your Hurting Heart

Speaker: Sis. Stella Dhinakaran

Gist: Whenever you feel hurt, go on your knees before Jesus and offer a short and simple prayer. The Lord will surely strengthen you with His divine love, which will heal your soul and strengthen your heart and mind to love impartially.

So many problems arise in our lives. Sometimes, children write making such naive requests, "I have a very good friend. But for sometime now she does not talk to me properly. This is so painful to me. Please pray that she should talk to me as before." Elders also have so many factions in the families. They quarrel among themselves and would not talk to each other. They would not allow their children to talk to such persons. These are the characteristics that are most beloved to the devil.

Dear friend, do not deceive yourself. Remember, the Lord desires to pour out His divine love into your heart. If you keep saying that you have accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour, that you are filled with His Holy Spirit, but still give room for hatred and bitterness in your heart all the time, you are drifting dangerously towards deadly sins. So, think a little about the way you lead your life. Ask yourselves if you are at peace with everybody. St.Paul exhorts, "If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men" (Romans 12:18).

If you say that you will just do your duty without any love, remember that it is not pleasing to the Lord. The sinful deeds or wicked lives of your loved ones, your friends or relatives may hurt your mind. But remember that Christ forgave sinners; He forgot their sins and showed them His love. It is His desire that filled with His divine love, you should also show your love to all alike. I know how difficult it is to practice. But it is mandatory.

A sister who had the anointing of the Holy Spirit, lived a God-fearing life. She loved all the members of the family alike whether they were her own relatives or her husband's relatives. Yet, a few women from her husband's household hurted her for no reason. This caused her unbearable pain. One day, she unloaded all her burdens, not before her husband or those who hurted her, but at the feet of the Lord. Immediately she felt a great relief. The Bible says, "The kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit" (Romans 14:17). Accordingly, a divine peace and the joy of the Holy Spirit filled her heart. Thereafter, when she met those who were ill-disposed towards her, she ignored their hurting words and was unshaken by their rudeness to her, revealing great love. Days passed by. The women who had been harassing this sister faced severe problems in their lives. They found no other comfort and had to come to the very person whom they had hurt, seeking her prayer and words of comfort. She, in turn, forgot all their past behaviours, and with the divine love in her heart, received them with love and concern. This made them express their regret for their conduct in the past. In course of time, they too received God's divine love. Relieved of all their problems by God's grace, they lived in peace and joy.

Dear friend, whenever you feel hurt, go on your knees before Jesus and pray, "Lord! Check the fits of anger in me. Fill me with Your love to overflowing volumes. Lead me aright." Just a short and simple prayer, isn't it? But the moment you say this prayer, the Lord will strengthen you with His divine love. Without the fullness of the Holy Spirit, you cannot receive this divine strength. Once you receive this divine strength, you will see God's hands working miracles for you in your life.

The Bible also says how wives can win their husbands by their chaste conduct. So, dear married woman, you need not spend all your days in tears. The Lord who helped David and Daniel in their crisis will help you as well. He will grant peace and harmony in your home!

Prayer:

Gracious Lord Jesus,

I praise You for Your uncomparable love. I am not at all worthy of Your love, Lord! Your love is great and selfless; but I am not able to love anyone like You. So, fill my heart with Your love and change me in such a way that I may be able to love even those who hurt me. I give all glory to Your almighty name, and submit this prayer with all humility at Your feet.

Amen.
