Perfect BlessingsSpeaker: Dr. D.G.S. Dhinakaran Gist: It is the will of God that we should be short of nothing, but perfect and complete in everything. God desires to shower perfect blessings in our life. He desires to bless us with every good gift. It is the will of God that we should be short of nothing, but perfect and complete in everything. God desires to shower perfect blessings in our spiritual life. He desires to bless us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ according to Ephesians 1:3, "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ."
A girl from a particular family was engaged to be married. As the wedding day approached, the girl's father bought the jewels, sarees, utensils, furniture and all the other articles needed for the marriage. Seeing these things, the groom's family members were astonished. They said, "Sir, why do you spend so much for these things. We did not ask you anything." The girl's father said, "Yes, of course, you did not demand anything. But she is my only daughter, and motherless too. As a father, I wish that you must be proud of her that she came to your house lacking nothing. And that will be my consolation."
My dear friend, our eternal Father is also like that. In Isaiah 49:15, He says, "Can a woman forget her nursing child, and not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely they may forget, yet I will not forget you." He utters these words for us to be perfect, lacking nothing. Yes, His desire is that we should be sufficient in all things at all times.
Paul says: "From now on let no one trouble me, for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus" (Galatians 6:17). Apostle John also says that as Christ is in heaven, so are we in this world (1 John 4:17). Paul also says that we are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord. Those who see us will see Christ in us (2 Corinthians 3:18).
The Lord desires to grant us this spiritual perfection. The gracious Lord Jesus promised us saying, "Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you" (Matthew 6:33).
It is the will of God that we should lack nothing, be perfect and receive fullness of blessings, whether in worldly and spiritual life.
"He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?" (Romans 8:32)
He who gave His own Son as a sign to us will certainly grant us all the other things. He is the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy (1 Timothy 6:17).
An officer in a particular place suddenly passed away leaving behind his wife and two young daughters of marriageable age. One day, that widow, modestly dressed, came to see me. What she said melted my heart. "Brother, my husband did not leave anything for us; my daughters have attained the age to be married. I have given all my sarees to them so that others should not mock at them. I have a saree to wear at home and one to wear when I go out, which I have worn now. But other people say, 'She does not seem to mourn for her husband's death, but goes about here and there well-dressed.' They do not understand that I have just this one saree for myself."
"Let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing." (James 1:4)
Dear friend, people mistake us; they even misunderstand us and talk bad about us as they wish. Let us not turn our eyes to man but look up to the hands of the Lord who says, "My child, I have fullness of blessing for you." His hands await to bless and abound us with everything so that we may lack nothing. The Lord wishes to give us the blessings to us according to the words that St.John has written:
"Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers." (3 John 2)
My dear friend, the Lord wishes to give you that fullness in everything, and nothing short of that fullness. How good a God He is!
Prayer:
Loving Lord Jesus,
You love perfection in everything. You have done everything perfect, right from the day of creation even till today, even in my life. You are so good! Lord, I know that You have a wonderful plan for my life. Today, I surrender to Your will. Lord, let that plan of Yours be fulfilled in my life. Help me to yield to Your will and not follow my own ways. Help my weaknesses, Lord. Make me perfect. I praise You because You are holy. I give You all the glory and honour.
Amen. |
