The Lord's Wonderful PresenceSpeaker: Dr. Paul Dhinakaran Gist: When we wait upon the Lord at His feet, surely we are able to feel His presence the whole of that day. His presence will surround us. We will have fullness of joy and eternal happiness. "A day in Your courts is better than a thousand. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of wickedness." (Psalm 84:10)
"Surely the righteous shall give thanks to Your name; the upright shall dwell in Your presence." (Psalm 140:13)
When we wait upon the Lord at His feet, surely we are able to feel His presence the whole of that day. That is why the Holy Scripture says, "A day in Your courts is better than a thousand" (Psalm 84:10).
My son Sam loves birthday parties. He would love to join in cutting the birthday cake, wear new dress and collect gifts with the person celebrating the birthday. On his birthday, he would wake up before 5'o clock in the morning and wake everybody else, because he knows that he will be wished and he can enjoy cutting the cake, wear new dress and await gifts from everyone. So that day is so special to him!
Dear friend, in the same manner, you too have a joyous day when you would receive good gifts. The Lord Jesus said to His disciples, "Your Heavenly Father knows that you need all these things" (Matthew 6:32). Jesus now says the same thing to you. He will grant us His goodness and wipe away our tears.
"My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest." (Exodus 33:14)
The Holy Scripture promises us that the presence of God will not only be in the Sanctuary, but will follow us wherever we may go. The Bible assures us about God's presence, "My people are taken away for nothing? Those who rule over them make them wail. The Lord will go before you, and the God of Israel will be your rear guard" (Isaiah 52:5,12).
The Almighty Lord says, "Those who rule My people cause them to wail unjustly. They do not just cry, but they wail so that I should go with them." He will go in the front and will surely save them from the perils and sufferings.
Once a friend of mine visited his children and grandchildren who were residing in the United States, along with his wife. When the day came for them to return back to India, they packed their luggage and left their room. At that moment, his granddaughter also brought all her playthings packed in a suitcase. The father asked his daughter, "Why do you bring all these things?" She replied, "I am ready to go to India along with grandpa."
My dear friend, in the same way the Lord is ready with His packed blessings to come with you and to be with you eternally, to save you from all evil powers and to fight the battles of your life. He is in front of you and He is your rear guard. His presence will surround you. You will have fullness of Joy and eternal happiness.
Prayer:
Gracious Heavenly Father,
Let Your presence be with me always and guide my way. Be by my side as a Guide. Father, You go before me showing me the right path. Protect me on all sides and safeguard me from the snares of the evil one. I put all my hopes and trust in You always. In Jesus' matchless name, I pray.
