God's Will in HealingSpeaker: Dr. Paul Dhinakaran Gist: In this world, you may be a weakling. But never forget that you are a vessel to carry His love and power. It is your duty to set free those who are in the clutches of satan and sickness, with the Holy Spirit. One day when my whole family was in prayer, Lord Jesus spoke to us, "My children, when I was in this world, the thing which I so much loved to do was to heal the sick people who came to Me."
My dear friend, the will of God is to heal people. In Mark 1:40-42, a leper came to Jesus and cried out saying, "If You are willing, You can make me clean." Jesus was deeply touched. He stretched out His hand, touched him and said, "My son, I am willing, be cleansed." In a moment, the leprosy disappeared and he was clean. Such is the heart of Jesus! It is His will for you to be healed. It is also His will for us to heal others in His name. In Matthew 10:8, He says to His disciples, "Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give."
In every goodnews meeting, journalists ask us, "Brother, how many people have you healed?" We reply to them, "Not even one! It is the loving Lord Jesus, full of love and compassion, who heals the people who come to the meetings with a longing in their heart and with faith. To such people, God gives His grace through us." The Bible tells in Ephesians 4:7,8, "But to each one of us, grace was given according to the measure of Christ's gift." Therefore the Bible says, "When He ascended on high, He led captivity captive, and gave gifts to men."
"God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him." (Acts 10:38)
The grace, which the Holy Spirit offers, is freely given to all. When we, through that grace, heal people and grant them the power to heal, we do the will of God.
I wish to share with you an interesting incident that happened in my life. I have been proclaiming the Word of God since I was 18. Once I was called to speak in a Church. Since youngsters were present in large numbers, they arranged for an evening meeting too. I was then twenty years old. I had been to the meeting alone. Just before I got on the dais, the organisers came to me and said, "Brother, three persons are sick here. Come and pray for them." They took me to a room where the three of them were kept. Only then, one of the organisers said, "Brother, these three men are demon-possessed." That's all! I was gripped with fear. I did not know what to do. When I turned back, I found that even the organisers had run away. But at that time, the Spirit of God descended upon me and all the fear left me. Filled with compassion, I placed my hands upon them and prayed, "Lord, the wicked demon has ruined the lives of these three persons. Have mercy, O Lord! I command the demon to come out, in Jesus' name." The three of them fell unconscious. When they opened their eyes after a while, their faces shone. They were filled with joy and left the place. Faith triumphed in my soul. Like a lion, I walked up the dais and spoke powerfully. The Lord has been using me mightily for His glory from that day onward.
Dear friend, in this world, we may be weaklings. But never forget that you are a vessel to carry God's power. It is our duty to set free those people who are in the clutches of satan and sickness. That is why God has given us His Holy Spirit. Will you ask for this Spirit with a burden? The same Spirit who was upon Jesus will fill you too. Through you, all sickness will be healed; demons will run away at the sight of you. You will thus be carrying out His divine will by His Spirit in you.
Prayer:
Loving Heavenly Father,
I humble myself before You and offer my life into Your miracle-working hands. I plead You to fill me with Your Holy Spirit and use me for Your glory. Without the Holy Spirit, I am nothing. I am a useless person. Father, grant me the anointing by which I can carry out Your will with power, working signs and wonders for Your glory. Accept me for Your divine service. I pray, in Jesus' name.
Amen. |
