Power in the WordSpeaker: Dr. Paul Dhinakaran Gist: Be happy. Do not be anxious or disheartened when you face sickness in your life. Jesus will give you freedom from all your sickness. He will give you a brand new life. Your life will bloom. Even though Jesus took the form of a man while he was on this earth, He was filled with love and compassion for those who were suffering from various disease and sickness. He healed them completely. He healed many with the power in His words.
There was a paralytic man who was healed by Jesus by just a word of forgiveness. After forgiving the sins of the paralytic man, Jesus told him, "Arise, take up your bed, and go to your house." And he arose and departed to his house (Matthew 9:6,7).
There is power in every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.
"For He spoke, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast." (Psalm 33:9) "And they were astonished at His teaching, for His word was with authority." (Luke 4:32) "He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions." (Psalms 107:20)
The words of Jesus were filled with great power. The Lord whom we worship is a great, powerful and unchanging God. The people who were suffering from various diseases received instant healing when Jesus spoke to them with great authority. The Scribes, the Pharisees and the Sadducees were all amazed by His teachings. Yes, there was a power in the words of Jesus.
Once a centurion sent some elders to Jesus to heal his servant. He sent word through them saying, "Lord, do not trouble Yourself, for I am not worthy that You should enter under my roof. Therefore I did not even think myself worthy to come before You. But say the word, and my servant will be healed" (Luke 7:6,7). Accordingly, the word of Jesus went and healed the servant at that very moment. There was so much power in the words of Jesus. The Bible says that 'Jesus' Himself is the Word that has all the power (John 1:1-3; Colossian 1:16; Ephesians 3:11). Even today, we have the word 'Jesus' right in our midst. Open your heart right now and say, "Lord Jesus, come into my heart." That Word will then come within you in the form of Jesus. At once, all sorrow and sickness will vanish by themselves.
Once, I had been to Shillong for a Gospel crusade. Even amidst the biting cold, thousands of people had gathered there to listen to God's Word. At their request, I began to pray individually for them one by one. A pastor's wife had come for prayer. Her hands were bent. She came up to me and said, "Paul, I have unbearable pain in my hands. Please pray for me and grant me relief." I prayed for her just for a second, "Lord, Jesus, this sister is a servant of Yours. Let Your Spirit enter into her now." That very moment her hands straightened. She went home in great ecstasy praising God. Is it not because the word, "Jesus" entered into her that she received the miracle? Her joy knew no bounds.
My dear friend, do not be anxious or disheartened when you face sicknesses and diseases. Rejoice in the Lord! When we lend our ears to listen to Jesus, Son of our Heavenly Father, be steadfast in our faith. When we trust and submit to Jesus just like a child believes its parents blindly, we will feel His presence in our day-to-day life. He will surely deliver us from all our sicknesses. He will give us a brand new life by His Word and make our life bloom.
Prayer:
Loving Heavenly Father,
You are great and mighty. Father, help me not to give up faith in Your Word, when I face difficulties, troubles and sicknesses. Lord Jesus, come into my heart and make me Your own child. Help me to feel Your presence every moment in my life. Heal all my sicknesses by Your Word and give me a new life. Make me to stand as a witness for Your glory. In Jesus' mighty name, I pray.
Amen. |
